This is that ...

On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came...

Many Jews were confused and marveled, “Whatever can this mean?”

Then Peter standing up raised his voice and began to speak. “These are not drunk as you suppose...but this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel...” (Acts 2:16)

This is that... is a resource to reveal, and give light to scripture...by comparing scripture to scripture. Only God can reveal God. Only His Spirit can “guide us into all truth.” (John 16:13)

This is that…7.31.18

The Professor stood at the door and handed each student a piece of paper that was folded in half and told them not to look at the contents. After everyone was seated, the Professor said they could now open the paper and answer the following question:

WHAT ARE MY REASONS FOR LIVING?

(Child of God, take some time and answer this question today. Write from your heart.)

After a little while, the Professor began to teach.

Many of you will have different answers to my question according to your interests, your goals, and those things that are important to you. The goal of this exercise is to reveal those things that are in your heart. Now let’s take a brief look at two words that have a major impact on your life: PURPOSE AND POTENTIAL.

P  U  R  P  O  S  E
Definition: the reason for which something exists or is done, made, used, etc.; an intended or desired result, end, aim, or goal; determination; resoluteness.

Examples:
  • The purpose of a screen door is to keep bugs out. (objective; function; point; intention; meaning; reason; design)
  • The students purpose is to graduate medical school and become a doctor. (goal; aim; ambition; intention; mission; target; resolution; desire; hope; expectation)
  • He purposed to be a great musician. (intend; aim; decide; persist; propose; persevere; plan; determine; endeavor; choose; commit oneself; have a mind to accomplish

Antonym: purposelessness, aimlessness; inconstancy; apathy

P  O  T  E  N  T  I  A  L
Definition: latent qualities or abilities that may be developed and lead to future success or usefulness; having or showing the capacity to develop into something in the future

Examples:
  • He is a potential candidate for president. (possible; conceivable; latent; concealed; hidden; covert; unapparent; dormant; passive; unexpressed)

THREE ORDINARY PEOPLE THAT MADE A DIFFERENCE
Certainly Moses saw the potential leadership abilities in Joshua.

He was chosen to be one of the twelve leaders to spy out the land of Canaan that God wanted His people to occupy. Sadly, only Joshua and Caleb had faith to take the land, but that was not enough to persuade the people. However, forty years later, Joshua would lead the next generation in to take the land of Canaan and occupy what God had given them forty years before. (Joshua Chapter 1)

Joshua came into the fullness of his purpose and potential as God led him to conquer and settle the Promised Land.

“So the Lord gave to Israel all the land of which He had sworn to give to their fathers, and they took possession of it and dwelt in it. The Lord gave them rest all around, according to all that He had sworn to their fathers. And not a man of all their enemies stood against them; the Lord delivered all their enemies into their hand. Not a word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass.” (Joshua 21:43-45)

Esther saved her people, the Jews, from a plot to annihilate them. God had a purpose for this young woman who became Queen after her marriage to the Persian King, Xerxes. With great tact and skill, she exposed Haman’s evil plot.

Her purpose for living unveiled the great courage and potential that this young woman had within her as she laid her life down to save the Jewish people.

Remember her uncle’s statement? “Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Jesus said of the Centurion soldier, “I have not seen such great faith, not even in Israel.”
He asked Jesus to heal his paralyzed servant, not to lay hands on him, but rather “speak a word, and my servant will be healed.”

This Roman soldier’s great desire was that his servant would be healed of a tormenting disease. His purpose, his intercession of love, brought him to Jesus.

His potential for “great faith” was in demonstration as he did not ask Jesus to come to his servant, but rather to “send the word.”

“And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” (1 John 5:4)

Joshua, Esther, and an Officer in the Roman army—three ordinary people at birth but born with a purpose. What was it that made them aware of their own potential?

MISSION AND VISION
When purpose is accompanied with a God-breathed mission, an ordinary hum drum life is propelled to unleash the power of potential!

Christian, when you were born again, God put Himself in you. The Holy Spirit in you is the power of God.

He is the potential to do extra-ordinary things for the Kingdom of God. (See Acts 1:8)

So, what are your reasons for living?

This is that…which God said about you before you were born!
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10)

The Professor wrote one word on the board.

B R E A D

Then He began teaching His students.
When you sit down and eat a slice of bread, what happens to the bread?

It is chewed, swallowed, and no longer seen. Yet, that bread, without you doing anything, is being changed by the digestive system to bring forth nutrition to your body. You swallow that bread and it is being processed.

In the same manner, when you sit down to study the Word of God, a similar thing is taking place within you. Jesus said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ” (Matthew 4:4)

What spiritual nutrition is gained by eating and digesting the good Word of God?

FAITH
Spiritual things are intangible, meaning that you can’t know them by the five-sense realm of this world. “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17)

When you’re spending time listening to anointed teachers and/or studying God’s Word privately, you’re hearing, or receiving the Word into your spirit man. Jesus said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” He then went on to say to His disciples, the mystery of the kingdom of God would be revealed to them. (See Mark 4:9-11) He wasn’t talking about what can be seen.

As the Word of God is received and digested—spiritually, it is being planted into the good ground of your spirit, or heart. When acted upon and released through the words of your mouth, it produces a spiritual substance called faith. This is how you got born again. (Romans 10:9-10)

Our Father in Heaven used His faith to produce the heavens and everything on earth. (Hebrews 11:1-3)

God and His kingdom are in the unseen realm. Ephesians 1:3 describes this as the “heavenly places in Christ” where every spiritual blessing that we can be blessed with resides.

One student raised his hand and asked, “Professor, I don’t understand why I’m not really experiencing all that I desire and need.”

Look at it this way. Let's say you have a checking account at a bank and have a huge amount of money there. You must make a withdrawal to get your money out.

In the Kingdom of God, faith is the withdrawal form.

Find the promise of God that answers your need and believe it. That means it is planted in your heart and when you speak, it is released. The tricky part is to believe you receive it when you don’t have it in this natural realm.

Sometimes you must persevere through contrary circumstances to overcome. “…through faith and patience we inherit the promises.” (Hebrews 6: 12)

But of course, you may experience the breakthrough immediately!

Here are the guidelines to faith from the LORD:
“Have faith in God.
For assuredly, I say to you,
whoever says to this mountain,
‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’
and does not doubt in his heart,
but believes that those things he says
will be done,
he will have whatever he says.

Therefore I say to you,
whatever things you ask when you pray,
believe that you receive them,
and you will have them.” (Mark 11:22-24)

But if you have unforgiveness in your heart toward anyone, the power of faith will not be transferred into the words you speak in prayer.

Also, remember to control your thought life against anti-faith suggestions. Tell them “No! Get out! Stay out!” The enemy is after an important component to faith: HOPE!

If hope is stolen you will be like the double-minded man who says, “I believe I receive.” Then later, “I’m probably not going to get this.” James 1:6 says he is unstable in all his ways, up and down like the waves of the sea. That produces a “kink” in the faith line.

No Word? No faith!

TO STAY STRONG IN FAITH:
EAT YOUR BREAD EVERY DAY!
Daily fellowship with Father in the Word of God is absolutely necessary for the good life.
Prayer is necessary! Tongues are necessary!
Hear an anointed teacher preach on faith every day.
Forgive. Walk in love with everyone.
Cast all worries, all cares, and all concerns onto the LORD. They will choke the Word of God if they get into your heart. (Mark 4:19)

Remember, scientific facts are inferior to scriptural truth! “His kingdom rules over all!” (Psalm 103:19)

 This is that…which Jesus revealed.
"I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE." (John 6:48)

"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us..."
(John 1:14)

 This is that...7.11.18

OLD TESTAMENT REVELATION
You have noticed that the severity of the wrath of God was kindled against His people over and over again because they had turned from Him and made idols to worship. Even the priests were guilty.

That meant that no one was offering up blood sacrifices for sin. Wrath was the consequence.

“Harlotry, wine, and new wine enslave the heart.
My people ask counsel from their wooden idols,
And their staff informs them.
For the spirit of harlotry has caused them to stray,
And they have played the harlot against their God.” (Hosea 4:11-12)

Hosea, in the depth of despair and anguish over a wife who kept committing adultery, knows well the pain of rejection that His God feels.

Yet, God looks to the future as His prophet writes:
“Come, and let us return to the Lord;
For He has torn, but He will heal us;
He has stricken, but He will bind us up.
After two days He will revive us;
On the third day He will raise us up,

That we may live in His sight.
Let us know,
Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord.
His going forth is established as the morning;
He will come to us like the rain,
Like the latter and former rain to the earth.” (Hosea 6:1-3)

NEW TESTAMENT REVELATION
I wonder sometimes if God’s born again family of Believers has real understanding of what Jesus Christ becoming the sacrificial Lamb of God really means.

For one thing, Jesus was never unfaithful to His Father, even though He was dreadfully tormented in the Garden of Gethsemane until His will became one with His Father’s will.

GOD'S WRATH
Becoming the offering for all of mankind’s sin, being beaten beyond recognition, rejected by those He loved, then nailed to the cross; it’s far beyond what we know.

Even further was His agony as He called out for His Father, “Why have you forsaken Me?”

God’s Lamb, His Beloved Son, was receiving the curse.
Jesus knew about this when He was suffering in the garden, because He read about the curse in Deuteronomy 28:15-68.

He also knew the reason He was born.
“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us...that the blessing of Abraham might come...” (See Galatians 3:13-14)

Every time you take Communion, you proclaim His death until He comes.
(1 Corinthians 11:26)

HIS SUFFERING—HIS BLOOD
ETERNAL REDEMPTION FOR YOU

“Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?  And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.” (Hebrews 9:12-15)

2018 END DAYS CHURCH
“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.”
(1 Peter 2:9-10)

Saints, why were you born?
Fulfill your call. Run your race...to the finish line!

There is an appointed time that God’s wrath will again be poured out, (1 Thessalonians 5:9), after the Church is removed. And not just on Israel but upon the heavens and the entire earth.

Make sure your heart remains faithful and ready.

This is that...which Jesus wants to know:
“Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8)

This is that...7.3.18
The Professor completed His teaching for the day on the glorious subject of faith and how it works. Then He said, does anyone have any questions?

One energetic young man said, “Professor, I recently used my faith in prayer to stand against the enemy’s plans. I followed what Jesus said in Mark 11:22-23.

“Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”

The young man continued, “I spoke directly to the problem and bound the enemy in Jesus’ name. I believed, I just knew it would be done for me.

Within a few moments though, some thoughts came to me that did not agree with what I spoke. I seemed to have thoughts that this would not take place, that I would NOT see the results I desired and I felt some distress. What was happening there?”

The Professor answered: Fear!
Fear rose up in you because you had some bad memories come back of when your prayers did not work. Fear began to paint a picture in your mind that the same thing was going to happen.

Stand up, close your eyes, and repeat this after Me. “Fear be cast out! I apply the Blood of Jesus into those memories. In the name of Jesus be gone from me!”

The Professor then paused. After a moment He said, What’s happening inside you?

“Oh my goodness! The anxiety is gone. I feel such peace. The memories left me and I know I have the answer to what I prayed. My faith is re-activated. What took place here Professor?”

I will tell you what happened in the spiritual realm by giving you an example in the natural realm.

Have you ever seen a picture of a hot air balloon when it is on the ground? It is flat as a pancake. Hot-air balloons float because the air trapped inside the balloon is heated up by a burner. Hot air inflates the balloon and makes it rise.

Fear-filled memories are like hot-air balloons!

You had some bad memories of past experiences when prayer did not work for you. Some of those memories caused you great pain and disappointment. As you thought of them, fear came and produced a picture of defeat in you.

The balloon was being filled with fear.

But when you took your God-given authority by using the power of the Holy Spirit within you, and applied the Blood of Jesus on those memories, those evil memories collapsed. Using Jesus’ name to command the memories and the fear to leave you worked, just as if Jesus Himself had said it.

The balloon was deflated and your peace returned.

“Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. For we who have believed do enter that rest...” (Hebrews 4:1-3)

COMMENTS
Very often between the time you pray the “prayer of faith” and when you experience the breakthrough, there will be the “fight of faith." Be aware that he uses different strategies to stop prayer from being answered. Christians who do not know about their dominion rights often succumb to the opposition of the devil thinking: faith just doesn’t work for me.

Satan hates faith because faith is the victory that overcomes the world.
(See 1 John 5:4)

Remember who you are and the scriptures that declare your victory. You have the power of the Holy Spirit in you. You are well equipped if you have planted the Word of God in your heart.

You can overcome ALL opposition.

This is that...which overcomes the world.
Jesus said: “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:17-18)
