Then He began teaching His students.
When you sit down and eat a slice of bread, what happens to the bread?
It is chewed, swallowed, and no longer seen. Yet, that bread, without you doing anything, is being changed by the digestive system to bring forth nutrition to your body. You swallow that bread and it is being processed.
In the same manner, when you sit down to study the Word of God, a similar thing is taking place within you. Jesus said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ” (Matthew 4:4)
What spiritual nutrition is gained by eating and digesting the good Word of God?
FAITH
Spiritual things are intangible, meaning that you can’t know them by the five-sense realm of this world. “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17)
When you’re spending time listening to anointed teachers and/or studying God’s Word privately, you’re hearing, or receiving the Word into your spirit man. Jesus said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” He then went on to say to His disciples, the mystery of the kingdom of God would be revealed to them. (See Mark 4:9-11) He wasn’t talking about what can be seen.
As the Word of God is received and digested—spiritually, it is being planted into the good ground of your spirit, or heart. When acted upon and released through the words of your mouth, it produces a spiritual substance called faith. This is how you got born again. (Romans 10:9-10)
Our Father in Heaven used His faith to produce the heavens and everything on earth. (Hebrews 11:1-3)
God and His kingdom are in the unseen realm. Ephesians 1:3 describes this as the “heavenly places in Christ” where every spiritual blessing that we can be blessed with resides.
One student raised his hand and asked, “Professor, I don’t understand why I’m not really experiencing all that I desire and need.”
Look at it this way. Let's say you have a checking account at a bank and have a huge amount of money there. You must make a withdrawal to get your money out.
In the Kingdom of God, faith is the withdrawal form.
Find the promise of God that answers your need and believe it. That means it is planted in your heart and when you speak, it is released. The tricky part is to believe you receive it when you don’t have it in this natural realm.
Sometimes you must persevere through contrary circumstances to overcome. “…through faith and patience we inherit the promises.” (Hebrews 6: 12)
But of course, you may experience the breakthrough immediately!
Here are the guidelines to faith from the LORD:
“Have faith in God.
For assuredly, I say to you,
whoever says to this mountain,
‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’
and does not doubt in his heart,
but believes that those things he says
will be done,
he will have whatever he says.
Therefore I say to you,
whatever things you ask when you pray,
believe that you receive them,
and you will have them.” (Mark 11:22-24)
But if you have unforgiveness in your heart toward anyone, the power of faith will not be transferred into the words you speak in prayer.
Also, remember to control your thought life against anti-faith suggestions. Tell them “No! Get out! Stay out!” The enemy is after an important component to faith: HOPE!
If hope is stolen you will be like the double-minded man who says, “I believe I receive.” Then later, “I’m probably not going to get this.” James 1:6 says he is unstable in all his ways, up and down like the waves of the sea. That produces a “kink” in the faith line.
No Word? No faith!
TO STAY STRONG IN FAITH:
EAT YOUR BREAD EVERY DAY!
Daily fellowship with Father in the Word of God is absolutely necessary for the good life.
Prayer is necessary! Tongues are necessary!
Hear an anointed teacher preach on faith every day.
Forgive. Walk in love with everyone.
Cast all worries, all cares, and all concerns onto the LORD. They will choke the Word of God if they get into your heart. (Mark 4:19)
Remember, scientific facts are inferior to scriptural truth! “His kingdom rules over all!” (Psalm 103:19)
This is that…which Jesus revealed.
"I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE." (John 6:48)
"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us..."
(John 1:14)
