OLD TESTAMENT REVELATION
You have noticed that the severity of the wrath of God was kindled against His people over and over again because they had turned from Him and made idols to worship. Even the priests were guilty.
That meant that no one was offering up blood sacrifices for sin. Wrath was the consequence.
“Harlotry, wine, and new wine enslave the heart.
My people ask counsel from their wooden idols,
And their staff informs them.
For the spirit of harlotry has caused them to stray,
And they have played the harlot against their God.” (Hosea 4:11-12)
Hosea, in the depth of despair and anguish over a wife who kept committing adultery, knows well the pain of rejection that His God feels.
Yet, God looks to the future as His prophet writes:
“Come, and let us return to the Lord;
For He has torn, but He will heal us;
He has stricken, but He will bind us up.
After two days He will revive us;
On the third day He will raise us up,
That we may live in His sight.
Let us know,
Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord.
His going forth is established as the morning;
He will come to us like the rain,
Like the latter and former rain to the earth.” (Hosea 6:1-3)
NEW TESTAMENT REVELATION
I wonder sometimes if God’s born again family of Believers has real understanding of what Jesus Christ becoming the sacrificial Lamb of God really means.
For one thing, Jesus was never unfaithful to His Father, even though He was dreadfully tormented in the Garden of Gethsemane until His will became one with His Father’s will.
GOD'S WRATH
Becoming the offering for all of mankind’s sin, being beaten beyond recognition, rejected by those He loved, then nailed to the cross; it’s far beyond what we know.
Even further was His agony as He called out for His Father, “Why have you forsaken Me?”
God’s Lamb, His Beloved Son, was receiving the curse.
Jesus knew about this when He was suffering in the garden, because He read about the curse in Deuteronomy 28:15-68.
He also knew the reason He was born.
“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us...that the blessing of Abraham might come...” (See Galatians 3:13-14)
Every time you take Communion, you proclaim His death until He comes.
(1 Corinthians 11:26)
HIS SUFFERING—HIS BLOOD
ETERNAL REDEMPTION FOR YOU
“Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.” (Hebrews 9:12-15)
2018 END DAYS CHURCH
“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.”
(1 Peter 2:9-10)
Saints, why were you born?
Fulfill your call. Run your race...to the finish line!
There is an appointed time that God’s wrath will again be poured out, (1 Thessalonians 5:9), after the Church is removed. And not just on Israel but upon the heavens and the entire earth.
Make sure your heart remains faithful and ready.
This is that...which Jesus wants to know:
“Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8)
