This is that ...

On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came...

Many Jews were confused and marveled, “Whatever can this mean?”

Then Peter standing up raised his voice and began to speak. “These are not drunk as you suppose...but this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel...” (Acts 2:16)

This is that... is a resource to reveal, and give light to scripture...by comparing scripture to scripture. Only God can reveal God. Only His Spirit can “guide us into all truth.” (John 16:13)

This is that…
April 2023

TIME
Nearly every time I look at the clock I’m surprised. I often say, “Wow, it’s later than I thought it was.”

It seems as though time has been speeded up. This alone can cause pressure, not being able to get everything done that we used to do in a day. Someone said that’s just because you’re getting older, but I don’t think so. I think the whole planet is getting ready for a change. Jesus mentioned this when speaking of the end of the last days. “And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.” (Matthew 24:22)

When the calendar turned to January 2020, to me it was like everything normal was removed as things went wild. The pandemic hit every nation on earth hard, which brought some nation’s economies to a screeching halt. Our nation used the pandemic as an excuse to shut down the church. Then some democrat-run states continued to exercise control, even saying that singing in church was not allowed. At the same time, other kinds of facilities were open to the public. This year, things continue to go wild as school boards say they have the right to inform and influence children in choosing the gender they want to be. Teachers say parents cannot influence their students in what decision they decide to make.

We could go on and on about the rise of debauchery being promoted to kids in public schools while parents know nothing of what their kids are being taught. The end-days church has been given a mandate to stand up and fight the good fight of faith. All these things, and so much more, reveal the time of Jesus’ return may be sooner than we think.

“But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.” (1 Thessalonians 5:1-2)

“And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.  And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:12-14)

This “good news” of the Kingdom of God must be preached throughout the world with signs following. After Jesus went preaching and teaching, God’s Kingdom was revealed by demonstrations of healings, signs and wonders, like multiplying two fish and five loaves of bread which fed five thousand men.
(Matthew 14:13:21)

The Importance of Prayer
“Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.” (Luke 6:12) Jesus spent this night praying and the following day He went out to choose the twelve disciples. Jesus prayed often. He was always with His Father.

The Importance of Intercession, Tongues, and Authority

Intercession is your voice releasing what you have inside of you. This is how Holy Spirit joined to your spirit can move mountains. Getting up into the higher realms of the Spirit will reveal those places of demonic strongholds that need to be blasted with power, demolished, and cast out. I almost want to compare this to getting on a roller coaster. You get in your seat, begin to pray in tongues and the car starts to move. As you get going, excitement builds and you hear yourself change with an increase of power and authority as words binding the enemy come forth. Now you’re moving with greater speed as the anointing is charging your batteries and power words are blasting devils out! Tongues, those heavenly fire bullets are flying out of your mouth as you’re hitting different demonic fortresses! Words of dominion, back and forth between English and tongues are sent out like military rockets that bring disarray to separate then bind evil beings to get cast out and locked up! You are being led along by the Holy Spirit within you. What a ride!

Intercession has a magnificent purpose for God’s vessel who lives in two realms of earth. Although you are born of a woman, you also are born again of God’s Spirit. You carry the One who made the earth…inside you.

Remember: Matthew 16:18-19 is your Sheriff's badge!

In the beginning, God’s Spirit didn’t do anything until Father spoke. Your Father wants you to be like Him! Father has given you full authority in two realms of influence…the earthly realm and the spirit realm. You go into the spirit-realm to release the Kingdom of Almighty God on earth!

This is God’s will and this is God’s purpose! As no one on earth has your thumb print, no one else on earth has your voice print or your location or your calling to fulfill. If you are not engaged in intercessory prayers often (daily is good), you leave a vacancy that demons desire to fill with debauchery.

Jesus said of our day that it would be like Noah’s time.
“Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.” (Genesis 6:5-6)

The Lord knows very well how we grieve over our nation and what is happening in our cities. We want to go home! But we have a purpose that is exceedingly important now: Bring in the lost! Part of bringing in the lost is first cleansing the heavens over our cities so that the lost on earth can hear and understand what Jesus did for them and get born again. All the churches and all the ministries have a mandate on them of extreme importance. As time moves ahead, the earth begins to have pressure like a woman beginning to have painful labor pains. Intercessory prayer can relieve that pressure. Put God’s Word first place in your life, pray much in tongues, guard what you hear, cast all cares onto the Lord and remember who you are in Christ. Keep looking up and fight the good fight of faith!

And now, once again, I looked at my clock.
“Wow, it’s later than I thought.”

“Lord, what about 2023?”

The Soldier
The Athlete
The Farmer

Paul writes to Timothy telling him to be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus: Soldier, do not entangle yourself with the affairs of life. Athlete, compete according to the rules to win your race. Farmer, work hard and be first to partake of the crops; after all what the farmer plants he gets to eat first. The Book of Timothy continues on to admonish all those in Christ to present yourself a worker who rightly divides the word of truth, sanctified and useful for the Master’s work. Why? Because of what’s ahead:

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”  (2 Timothy 3:1-5)

Why?
Because denying the power of God is to deny the Holy Spirit of God who is at work through the Body to enforce the Kingdom of God on earth to heal the sick, cast out devils, and raise the dead!

“But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (See 2 Timothy Chapter 3)

Paul continues to encourage Timothy and reveal the future:
“I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:
Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” (2 Timothy 4:1-5)

If there’s one word that keeps coming up to me in these scriptures it’s “separation.” And that’s not always easy to do, but necessary. The bottom line in making decisions as to who you will continue to have close fellowship with when they are no longer on the same page with you is this: just how important is God’s Word in your life? How much are you willing to compromise the Gospel for? How much compromise or silence are you willing to embrace for the sake of remaining quiet? If close bonds with certain others continually leave you feeling a loss of joy after being with them, it may be time to “from such turn away.”

If this seems harsh, think about Jesus. His mother and brothers wanted Him to stop preaching and come outside so they could rebuke Him. What was His response to His family?

“While He was still talking to the multitudes, behold, His mother and brothers stood outside, seeking to speak with Him. Then one said to Him, ‘Look, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak with You.
“But He answered and said to the one who told Him, ‘Who is My mother and who are My brothers? And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.” (Matthew 12:46-50)

The Soldier, the Athlete, the Farmer were all “faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” (2 Timothy 2:2) Each one was one hundred percent committed to fulfilling their assignment. Each one gave it their all without compromise. These are good examples but do not compare with Jesus’ commitment, all the way to the end. If He had been pulled away…where would you and I be today???

Guard your heart, guard your anointing.

The End of the End Days
Matthew Chapter 24 describes times of great tribulation coming upon one generation. Jesus describes these days as being like the days of Noah, which were exceedingly wicked, so much so that God our Father was sorry He had made man. What debauchery! (Genesis 6:6) Are we not seeing this? What are we to do?

Remember who you are in Christ! Pray at least 30 minutes in tongues every morning. Study scripture. Jesus’ return could be any day. That means stay united in Him and let not your heart become weary that you let go of your assignment to intercede for the lost.

The Intercessors have great power and authority to cast devils out as they unite in heavenly places over every city, every county, every state. This is where we are seated together in the power of the Holy Spirit. And frankly, I don’t think we can have that fullness without praying in tongues. We all need to step up our time in the Spirit now. Blessed is the man who Jesus finds doing his job when He returns in the air to remove His Body.

Remember, the soldier had to press through his fear of death to take the land from the enemy. He was driven to accomplish his assignment no matter what the cost! The athlete, as he was running the last lap, was tired, hurting and weary, but he could see and hear his coach cheering him on, “Keep going, you can do this, do not give up, don’t stop now. You will win this race and receive the victor’s crown!” The farmer had great faith through many storms, believing that what he planted, fertilized, and cared for would yield an amazing harvest.

Saints, Jesus is with us. Do not fear. Feed on God’s Word. Continue to intercede and pray more in tongues. The victory line is just ahead...

Jesus is there!
