Someone recently said, “As Intercessors we have to be informed of things going on in our nation so that we can pray about them.” Holy Spirit said: “No, not exactly.”
Spirit/spirit
Holy Spirit knows about everything that is going on. He leads us as we pray, especially in tongues. Tongues will provide an alternate route to bypass the traffic in the mind. Praying in the Spirit is connecting to Him--Spirit/spirit, completely as One being—a new creation in Christ!
Rather than trying to depend only on gathering information from news programs, we can go inward to the re-created man to pray out mysteries...secrets that are in code directly to Father! Get comfortable with not knowing everything. We pray out hidden, undisclosed knowledge that the world does not have access to, but Holy Spirit does. He is God! We hit the target 100% of the time!
Romans Chapter 8:1-6 contrasts walking according to the flesh rather than living according to the inward Spirit/spirit. We can transfer this knowledge to a higher place of intercession with tongues. Remember, the enemy cannot steal what he doesn’t know.
Romans 8:1-6
Notice highlighted words.
1“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh,
4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”
Highlights to Intercession
Vs. 1. do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
Do not pray according to the earthly physical senses. What you hear, what you see happening in the news, is all subject to change. (2 Corinthians 4:18)
Vs. 2. Those Intercessors who live/walk in the Spirit/spirit are made free of sin and death. You are under grace. (Romans 6:14) Praying in tongues comes out of the new-creation man that is totally free, beyond earthly restrictions.
Vs. 3. What the Old Testament Law could not do because it worked through the flesh (weak), God accomplished by sending His Son’s Spirit into man. We operate in the higher realm of the Spirit. There, we pray out mysteries that advance the Kingdom of God. Also, tongues will add muscle to build your inner man and make you bold to bind and cast out devils that are against the Gospel. (Jude 1:20, Matthew 18:18)
Vs. 4. Jesus Christ fulfilled the righteous requirement of The Law, therefore the law is now fulfilled in us who walk according to His Spirit. This empowers our praying to a new level of authority on the earth. Do you really know who you are in Christ?
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.” (2 Corinthians 5:16-19)
The Ministry of Reconciliation
Sinners need to be prayed for before the “word of reconciliation” can get through their mental barriers of unbelief. There are many anti-Christ spirits in the atmosphere that need to be bound and cast out over our cities. They are there because there has been little to no enforcement to lock them up. “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.” (Matthew 24:12) Let’s kill the root, Saints!

Vs. 5. Set your mind on things of the Spirit. A few minutes of tongues will silence your thoughts and advance the power of your prayers. Remember it is always Spirit/spirit. Tongues can go where no man has gone before!
Vs. 6. The carnal mind is not based on God’s Word and will result in prayers that are consumed with the problem. Restating the problems over and over will not produce change and may bring weariness and despair. To be spiritually minded is life and peace from God’s Word. That’s where faith resides. And faith works through love!
The Power of Angelic Armies Await Your Orders!
1 Corinthians 13:1 “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels...”
So when you declare the mountain to move, angelic armies are released to remove hindrances that are preventing revival. But remember, hatred and unforgiveness toward evil leaders will keep your faith stuck at the red light.
When praying for my city, I go back and forth between English and tongues. I am very aware of the angels.
Sample: “I plead the blood of Jesus on every lost person in my city. I command devils of lawlessness and anti-Christ spirits against the Gospel to be cast out of them now! You devils be taken captive by the great armies of God! I pray for the lost to hunger for Jesus. Lord, give them ears to hear and understand what Jesus did for them. Pull them into You, Father, in Jesus’ name. I speak peace and order over my city.”
Always keep in mind: You and I are enforcing what Jesus has already accomplished!!! And He wants us to DO this!
