Got Spiritual Stamina?
Definition of Stamina: endurance; strength of constitution; vigor; sturdiness; hardiness; staying power; energy; perseverance; vitality.
Stamina is the ability to sustain prolonged physical or mental effort.
Spiritual stamina comes from your inner man where the Holy Spirit resides and where God’s Word is planted to produce what is necessary to bring strength and overcoming victory. This is quite different than an athlete who is in training and physically works out to accomplish his goal. You are a spirit born of God that lives to please Him and do His will.
The Kingdom of God
… is within you!
Therefore …“Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ (that is, to bring Christ down from above) or, ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? ‘The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart’ (that is, the word of faith which we preach) …” (Romans 10:6-8)
There is a profusion of songs and sermons these days that are not Word based or faith based in our churches. That does not please God for “…without faith it is impossible to please Him.” They just don’t know who they are in Christ.
Lack of Word produces a lack of faith. Result?
Many songs and teachings are expressing our lowly state and how needy we are. That’s exactly what the Word says NOT to do for they lead the Christian to think help is coming from something apart from them, something way out there in the sky somewhere! What nonsense! Don’t you know who you are? Don’t you know what the Holy Scriptures say about you? “…‘The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart’ (that is, the word of faith which we preach) …” That means it is necessary for every Believer to have a daily diet of the nutrient rich scriptures.
Grasshopper Mentality
That is exactly the inner image the children of Israel had. When told to take the land of Canaan, they became frightened, and saw themselves alone and without power. They forgot Who was with them…He who parted a sea, brought wind to dry the earth, and then released a tidal wave of water to drown their wicked enemies. They experienced this!
Then how could they say God brought them into the desert to kill them?
They were influenced by the fear of ten faith-less leaders who said the giants were stronger than they. (Numbers 13:30-31) Why were Caleb and Joshua different? They had faith in God and said, “we are well able to overcome it.”
Faith in God’s ability produces spiritual stamina that overcomes the world. Our very identity is based in God’s power to fulfill His Word in us.
The Word of Faith Which We Preach …
The Apostle Peter reveals our foundation of faith.
“… His divine power has given us all things that pertain to life…exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” (2 Peter 1:3-4)
God’s Word has within itself the power to bring the Word to pass when planted into the good heart of a Believer, “you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe.”
(1 Thessalonians 2:13)
The Word of God performs its work in you who believe. Faith in God will provide you with spiritual stamina to hold your ground in patience with endurance to receive the promise. (Hebrews 10:36)
Growing Up to Take the Land
“And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.” (Luke 19:13) The ball is in our court!
Intercession in Stressful Times
Spiritual stamina, the inner strength of God in us, is a requirement for those who are standing in the gap for our cities, our state, and this nation’s government. Fear is an enemy that we must not allow to enter our mind and heart.
Fear speaks the circumstances. Faith in God overcomes the world. (1 John 5:4)
Moses was the great intercessor. When the armies of Pharaoh were breathing down the necks of the children of Israel, Moses said:
“Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
(Exodus 14:13-14)
The Glorious Church
Father is not only at work cleansing our government of years of gross corruption, He is also using this adversity to grow and mature His children to take their rightful place of authority that Jesus has already attained for us! He gave us His Spirit to live in us. We’re not to be looking outward, but rather going inward to receive from the God inside.
Prayer, Bible Study, and praying in tongues will subdue chaotic thinking and bring peace to the soul.
Spiritual Stamina:
Stand upright in the LORD!
Stand still and see the salvation of the LORD!
Stand in His grace, in His favor, in His blessing!
Stand in your citizenship as an Ambassador for God’s Kingdom on earth!
Stand fast in God’s authority that abides in you!
Stand erect; maintain your allegiance to freedom in Christ!
Stand, stationary and sure-footed to press in to fulfill your call!
Stand firm and hold your ground to walk by faith and not by sight!
Stand firm on the rock that cannot be shaken.
Stand firm in the power of His resurrection.
Stand in the power of His might. Put on the armor of God!
Stand firm in your fellowship with the Anointed One and His anointing in you!
Stand firm in the Kingdom of God through Holy Spirit that lives inside you!
This is that … Who lives in you!
“… God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” (Acts 10:38) “… you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.” (1 John 2:20)
* We are here to take the nations back to God!
