“Lord, what about 2023?”
I was talking with someone the other morning about where we are on God’s calendar and the many awful things that have been allowed in our nation. The last two years are beyond what I could have imagined to take place.
During our discussion I drew a picture of where I think we are on God’s calendar. I drew a picture of a funnel which toward the bottom gets smaller and smaller and smaller. A little ways from the bottom pinpoint of the funnel I scribbled a little dark circle. I said the dark mark represents earth. This is where I think we are on God’s calendar.
The picture of the funnel reminded me of a birth canal.
As the baby is getting closer to the time of delivery, the mother and the baby have no control over what is taking place. We say “nature is at work.” Also during this time, there is much discomfort for both of them as contractions are taking place moving the baby downward. As time goes by, that pressure gets more and more intense on both mother and child.
2023
We know we are in that special time of earth’s history called “The End Days.” There’s much written about these days in the Old and New Covenants that we have been taught. Yet, now it is more important than ever to keep The End Day’s scriptures before our eyes.
I found Isaiah Chapter 2 interesting this morning. This prophet is pointing toward our generation, those Spirit-filled Believers on earth right now who have been called with a purpose to bring in the harvest and prepare His Body for the return of Jesus. Once the Glorious Church is removed then will come God’s terrible wrath upon earth. After that, the 1,000 years of Christ’s rule from Jerusalem will come, which we will be a part of. See Revelation 2:25-29 and Matthew 19:28.
But for now, the Apostle Paul reveals the coming of the Lord for His Church:
“But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
"For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.”
“But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, ‘Peace and safety!’ then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.” (1 Thessalonians 4:13 – 5:11)
Let us also remember The Parable of the Ten Virgins. Five were prepared, watching with their lamps full of oil. Jesus said of the others, “I do not know you.”
“Watch, therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.” (Read Matthew 25: 1-13)
Revival at Asbury College
At the same time we are watching, (prepared for Jesus’ return), the Lord is pouring out His Holy Spirit to gather souls into the Kingdom of God. Revival does not come without a foundation of prayer being laid in cities by praying people.
Could it be that the Holy Spirit anointing, which sparks faith in Jesus in an unbeliever that gets them born again, actually started with the revival that occurred in the 1960’s and 70’s? Many Believers then were praying for revival and have continued to intercede these many years. Jesus said, “Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.” (Matthew 24:34)
Revelation 5:8-9 is so curious to me.
It says that in heaven there are “golden bowls full of incense which are the prayers of the saints.” Are they saved in bowls to be released according to God’s time clock for earth? What would it look like if God poured out those bowls of intercessory prayers all at the same time? Might that be a most powerful event to help the lost get loosed from the evil lies of demonic control so that they find the love of their life, Jesus Christ?
Whether this is accurate or not, we do know that God will release His power upon the earth to get the lost in before the great and awesome day of the Lord’s wrath!
Prayers for the lost will be poured out like a flood that devils cannot hold back or steal! Multitudes are coming in…and we need to be praying in answers to how the churches can train up these new believers!
It’s glorious!!!
