This is the Confidence …
Confidence: firm belief, trust, reliance; belief in one’s abilities
Recurrent training:
Airline pilots spend a few days each year in recurrent training to brush-up on the skills and knowledge needed to fly safely. This helps to refresh and train them on potentially lifesaving skills that perhaps unknowingly they have let go and are not practicing.
Intercession: What is it?
2023 intercession is a unique call to fulfill a most important event: to prepare earth for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ in the air!
(1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
Attached to that call is to bring the lost to Jesus Christ and establish heaven’s kingdom to earth!
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing (where?) in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world…” (Ephesians 1:3-4)
We’re like the steering wheel for the Kingdom.
We have the keys to the Kingdom within our heart and they are released through our words and Holy Spirit tongues. Our words are keys that open and close or release and lock up! (Matthew 16:18-19)
Many believers who were called to intercession decades ago are getting older. How are we doing? Like pilots who fly, let’s do some recurrent training on this number-one power tool to bring in the harvest!
Recurrent Training: Identifying the Prayer of Faith
Number 1 - Does God hear me…is He listening?
Jesus said, “And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.” (Matthew 6:7)
That is not the prayer of faith!
That is the prayer of doubt and works.
This is the prayer of faith:
“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”
(1 John 5:14-15)
You must believe that God is with you, that He is listening to you, and that He will answer you. Although the heavens are full of anti-Christ spirits in operation by people of witchcraft and sorcery, He has “raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceedingly riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians 2:6-7)
Number 2 – Is your prayer God’s will?
What did Jesus say about His Father? You know Him through the scriptures.
You must have an intimate, daily relationship with Him based on His Word. Then you will be alert to any lie/scheme about Him. Some churches teach that you must worship Mary, make vain repetitions on beads, light candles and bow before man made statues when making a petition! Other main-line denominations now welcome fornicators and homosexuals without ever mentioning sin. (See Romans 1:18-32) We must never let go of scripture. Why? “This is the victory that overcomes the world-even our faith!” (1 John 5:4)
The Word of God is the faith foundation we must lay hold of every day to keep us on track in a world that is going crazy! Let’s face it…the thief is out to steal our prayer/study time because it is our power connection to produce God’s Kingdom with authority! If we do not stay firmly committed here, our prayers (our lives) will be built on sinking sand that questions God, “Does God hear me? Is He listening?” That reveals zero faith. (Read Matthew 7:24-28)
Number 3 – The prayer of faith is the prayer prayed in faith that holds onto faith like a bull dog with a bone.
That dog is determined to stand and get results until maybe he tires of it and lets it go! James 1:6-8 gives us a picture of a wave on the sea. A strong wind comes up and the sea is driven with waves going way up and then crashing down. The effect on a once calm sea is now in total chaos, without peace, without order. A Christian like this is in danger.
When Jesus and His disciples were crossing the sea to deliver the demonized man, a devil storm came to stop God’s Kingdom from bearing fruit on earth. How? The boat filled with water and they were about to drown! “Can’t you do something?” Jesus arose, rebuked the wind, the source of the problem, and then He called in what He wanted from the heavens and the ocean, “Peace, be still!” The wind ceased and there was a great calm. Jesus then turned to His followers and rebuked them for being full of fear. “How is it that you have no faith?”
(Mark 4:35-41)
Jesus knew He was crossing the sea because He had an assignment from God: deliver the demonized man, clothe him, and call him into the ministry with an assignment to save his country! This assignment is what the devil tried to kill before it was born…souls for God’s Kingdom!
When you are standing in prayer, be determined to overcome any thoughts of unbelief, any demonic opposition that may come to steal your faith. This is fighting the good fight of faith.
“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” (1Timothy 6:12)
Number 4 – God’s Weapons: See 2 Corinthians 10:3-6
Greater is the Holy Spirit in you than the enemies against God’s Kingdom!
“For indeed, the Kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:21)
Pray often throughout your day in the Holy Spirit! This will transfer you out of this natural realm into the spirit realm. Greater is He that is in you than the haters of righteousness in the world.
This is the Confidence (Faith) for 2023…
Confidence: firm belief, trust, reliance; belief in one’s abilities
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil…praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— “ (Ephesians 6:10-19)
This is how we overcome!
