Who are you, really? How do you see yourself?
The newly-created you cannot see itself in the mirror. Neither should we see The Church as a building that we walk into every Sunday.
The new creation is a spirit which has a soul, (mind, will, emotions,) and lives in an earth suit called a body. Your God-breathed spirit came into being from an imperishable, eternal living seed from God’s Kingdom. Your spirit and God’s Spirit are one.
Just as the body requires food and water, the spirit man requires that which he was born from: God’s Word, to be healthy and strong enough to dominant the soul and the body.
Renewing the mind should be very high on your list of priorities every day because we are traveling through perilous times. But more importantly, we will not achieve the results Jesus shed His blood for unless we take on a new identity.
Our spirit, soul, and body are to possess the freedom of living a crucified life.
“The life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
I remember a conversation I had a few weeks ago with a dear Christian. We spoke of some of the "circumstances" surrounding our lives. Later, the Holy Spirit showed me that what I said did not line up with scripture.
Dealing With "Circumstances"
"For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Mark 11:23
Notice, Jesus did not say to speak about the mountain. He said speak directly to it, and not only that, but tell it where to go!
And, we cannot always toss the blame for everything on the devil. That doesn’t cut it with Jesus, especially when He said you have power over him.
I beseech you therefore, brethren:
“by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Romans 12:1-2
Saints, we have a responsibility to the Lord to renew our hearts and minds to the Word of God. No one else is going to do this for us.
Most problems that Christians are suffering with are because they have renewed their minds to the circumstances and continue to rehearse the problem over and over again in thought and with their words.
I can’t recline on God’s bed of grace and expect my mind to be automatically renewed by a Sunday sermon can I? Why not? Because wickedness and chaos is on the increase and the Glorious Church is the only source for truth and deliverance.
The Lord gave me this picture:
I was looking at one of the largest dams in the world. It had begun to split in different places and water was shooting out between the cracks. Expert engineers had workers shimming down ropes to plug up the holes with tubes of “glue.” But as they tried desperately to fill the holes more cracks were busting open and they could not keep up.
The harvest is ready Saints for the Glorious Church!
That’s why it’s so important to the Lord that we renew the mind continually.
Definition of Renew: renovate, repair, mend, fix, improve, make over, remodel, refurbish, restore
When remodeling a kitchen there is first a plan, then a tear down, and then reconstruction. When the beautiful new kitchen is being enjoyed and appreciated, it still needs daily cleansing to keep it in order.
If things are not going well, most likely it is because of:
- Not knowing know who you are in Christ
- Not knowing what you have been given
- Not doing the Word
The Helper Helps
The Holy Spirit, our life-long Coach, has been given to strengthen, support, lead and guide us into the ways that overcome all circumstances. But He always works in conjunction with God’s Word. Remember Genesis 1:2-3?
The Kingdom of God and Citizenship Rights
You are in the world but not of it. Your citizenship is from Heaven. You have been called out, chosen, a joint heir with Jesus and an heir of God. Wow!
Receive your inheritance…His Word.
“You are complete in Him…” Colossians 2:10
Ask yourself: Do I have need of other things to fulfill my identity? Do I lean on my education, career, bank account, house, car, clothes, etc. to let others know who I am? Our identity is always located in Jesus." I am a Christ-ian!"
“You are accepted in the Beloved.” Ephesians 1:6
Your confidence should be in this: Jesus shed His blood and chose you for His own. He cleansed you, made you righteous before Father, and has made you a minister of reconciliation, an Ambassador for Christ!
“Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh.” 1 Corinthians 5:16
And that includes how you see yourself, dear hearts!
Challenge:
Read through the Who I Am in Christ scriptures list or go through the epistles and make your own list of who you are. Meditate on them. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you receive them to change how you see yourself.
When we see ourselves as God designed us we can do the impossible without being in awe. This is the place we should live. In Jesus earthly ministry, He was confident and bold in who He was, who was His Father and what Father could do through Him.
When your identity comes to full fruition in Christ, it affects me and vice versa. When we all blossom in Christ Jesus, and it is no longer, “I who live, but Christ lives in me,” the Glorious Church will come into higher realms of glory to minister Jesus to the world without any limits!
How we live our individual lives not only affects the rest of the Body of Christ and the waiting world, but affects our Savior, for it pleases Him when we walk by faith in His words.
Jesus became sin and suffered to take our place so we could take His glorious place. And He has given each of us an assignment to preach the gospel of the Kingdom.
His gospel is not an impotent gospel void of power. Absolutely not! The works that He did, we do also, and now, even greater works!
Definition of Impotent: unable to function, ineffective, powerless, frail, feeble, weak, disabled, helpless, paralyzed
Definition of Potent: powerful, strong, mighty, forceful, vigorous, over-powering, formidable, solid, tough, influential, compelling, impressive, effective, dynamic
Let us leave behind worldly intellectualism, for what is possible for us is not based on what other people have done. We operate through a Kingdom within and it comes with supernatural abilities!
Have you met you — the real you?
"Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.
“But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.
“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
“These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
“But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
“But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.
”For ‘who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?’
“But we have the mind of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 2:9-16
And that would be a renewed mind…
Prepare, prepare the way, Saints!
The Holy Spirit is moving The Church into its rightful authority.
Time is moving The Church to leave the nonsense behind and be about our Father’s business!
Pray for your state!
The Church—The Lost—Elected Officials
“The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the LORD; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low;
“The crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth;
“The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken. Isaiah 40:3-11
Stay ready Church…this could be the day we’re going up!
