"Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow ... and let them be ready for the third day.
For on the third day the LORD will come down ...."

REVIVAL AND THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
“In Him also
we have obtained an inheritance,
being predestined
according to the purpose of Him
who works all things
according to the counsel of His will,
that we who first trusted in Christ
should be to the praise of His glory.” Ephesians 1:11-12
Revival Begins at Home
Your spirit is the place Holy Spirit calls home … 24/7.
Isn’t that wonderful?
Do we realize who He is? He is God. He is the source of all power. He was there at the beginning, creating life.
He is the One who we see revealed in the beginning when the earth was void, without form and darkness was on the waters. Holy Spirit was hovering over the waters.
God said, “Let there be light, and there was light.” (Genesis 1:1-3)
This was not sunlight. The sun did not exist yet.
This was the divine energy of His glory — life! — coming forth from His being.
When Father spoke, the Son (Colossians 1:16) and the Spirit brought forth the substance of what Father said. (Hebrews 11:1-3)
“Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion … over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.’” Genesis 1:26
We can see the work of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, in the creation of earth and man. “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.” Genesis 2:7
God breathed life from Himself into man and man became a living being.
The Hebrew scribes say, “Man became a speaking spirit.”
Because of disobedience, Adam’s spirit died in the Garden of Eden. But through the sacrificial death of God’s Son, man’s spirit can be born from above…a new creation!
When we believe and confess Jesus as LORD we are made the righteousness of God.
(2 Corinthians 5:21) By the words of our mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:8-10)
We can see this same spiritual law at work when God was creating life and earth was being formed by His words. The things which are seen all around us were not made of things which are visible. (Hebrews 11:3)
THE TEMPLE OF HIS SPIRIT
When you became a new creation, light, life, and love were imparted into your being.
You went from darkness and void (emptiness), to a living vibrant vessel that contains God’s divine energy, His glory. Eternal life took up residence within you. He is called … the Holy Spirit!
This is why you will never ever be alone and why you should never fear.
“Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ So we may boldly say:
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?” Hebrews 13:5-6
LIVING IN THE SPIRIT
“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:16) Remember, your flesh was not born again. That means your soul, (mind, will, and emotions), must be trained by the Word of God. Read Romans 12:1-2.
If you are Christ’s you should be living life in and through God’s Spirit.
After all, Holy Spirit is living with you isn’t He?
But can you imagine living with someone who continually grieves you?
“Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:29-32
The way to live the abundant life each day is to please Him. How?
“And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” Galatians 5:24
Yielding To Him
Definition of Yield: surrender, give up, give in, give way, capitulate, submit, acquiesce, bow down
Why is this SO important for the end-of-day’s generation?
Revival will not take place without the power of the Holy Spirit!
And He cannot release the diversity of gifts, like the power gifts, through vessels who cannot control their flesh.
Would you give a loaded gun to a two-year-old who is still having fits of carnality when he doesn’t get his own way? What about someone who cannot control their temper or their tongue? What about those who despise their neighbor or wish evil upon elected leaders?
Blessed Saints, can you hear the heart of God calling His children to walk in love?
“If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Galatians 5:25
This means every step you take today, walk with the Holy Spirit, yielding to Him.
Someone might say, “Yeah, but I have to go to work, pick-up the kids, stop at the market, cook dinner, etc. How can I be led by the Spirit all the time?”
One minister answered this way:
“Listen!
Listen to the prompting of your heart. Scripture says, ‘Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.’ Psalm 119:11
She went on to say:
“Keep the word in your heart.
Keep close to Him.
If you’re going the wrong way, He will let you know.
Stay in tune with His heart.”
If you don’t set some time to fellowship with Him and study the Bible each day, you can be thrown off track and will eventually lose spiritual vitality and begin to conform to the world and its evil ways. And you may not be ready for the return of Jesus Christ.
Jesus said He would ask the Father to give us another Helper to abide with us, the Spirit of truth, to dwell in us. “I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” See John 14:16-18.
“Today, if you will hear His voice …”
The Church, the called out ones, are going through life with the same Helper abiding in each of us, our Comforter, our Strengthener. We’re experiencing much of the same things.
We can only live in this day…we can’t live in yesterday…and we can’t live in tomorrow. We hear Him in the present.
We are the Body of Christ on earth who have “obtained an inheritance,” predestined to fulfill “the purpose of Him” who is working “all things according to the counsel of His will.” (Ephesians 1:11)
All of us are moving toward this goal: to fulfill His will.
But things are getting crazy out there!
“Therefore do not worry, saying,
‘What shall we eat?’ or
‘What shall we drink?’ or
‘What shall we wear?’
For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:31-33
Let’s hook up together and walk by faith, Saints! Our God is faithful!
THE PURPOSE OF HIM
Closing Comments
Jesus was born with a purpose.
Jesus was in preparation for His purpose for thirty years. His purpose did not fully appear until He was baptized and the Spirit came upon Him. (Matthew 3:16-17)
“… how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” Acts 10:38
“… that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.” Acts 3:20-21
You were born again with a purpose.
You have been baptized with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of praying in the Spirit.
You have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. (1 John 2:20)
THE MANIFESTATION (POWER) OF THE HOLY SPIRIT THROUGH THE BODY OF CHRIST
Diversities of Spiritual Gifts—1 Corinthians Chapter 12
“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.”
Beloved, “Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts…”
1 Corinthians 14:1
Revival is in the hands of the Holy Spirit …
who is IN you!
