"Grace to you
and peace from Him
who is
and who was
and who is to come ..."
Revelation 1:4
_____________________________________________________________

Old Testament Prophecy:
The Messiah

“The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

“To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn…” Isaiah 61:1-2  KJV

New Testament Fulfillment: Jesus Christ
“And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.  And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.

And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

“And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to:
  • preach the gospel to the poor
  • he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted
  • to preach deliverance to the captives
  • and recovering of sight to the blind
  • to set at liberty them that are bruised
  • to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

“And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, this day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears. And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth.

“And they said, ‘Is not this Joseph's son?’” Luke 4:14-22

The Revelation of Jesus
Jesus was revealing who He was to the people in the regions around Nazareth.
  • He was operating in the power of the Holy Spirit. See Acts 10:38
  • As He was teaching the people, they glorified Him.
  • Then He revealed who He was to the people that knew Him in His own home town.
  • He went to the Old Testament scriptures to reveal His identity.
  • He declared: the acceptable year of the Lord had come.

“This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.”
They all marveled and gave witness at His gracious words. Praise God!

That is, until some began to say, “Is this not Joseph’s son?” Uh oh!

That statement came from those who denied who Jesus said He was; after all, they saw Him grow up and thought they knew His Dad. Jesus had just declared Himself the Messiah but hardened hearts declared Him a liar. In fact, Luke 4:29 says these people wanted to throw Him over a cliff.

Why? Someone else is involved in this picture, someone not seen.

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
See 2 Corinthians 4:3-4.

The lost are blinded because the god of this world has deceived them and is blocking the truth from their minds. Well then, is it hopeless? Certainly not! Otherwise you would not have been born again yourself.

“And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins: wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

“Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

“That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:1-9

Intercession: Someone Prayed for You
Out of a heart of love for you and love for God, someone prayed for you to have understanding and knowledge of who Jesus is. Perhaps you know who that person was. Even if you don’t know who prayed for you, there will come a day when you will know who gave of themselves in prayer so you could find Jesus.

You and I are praying for the lost in our cities and states, those we don’t even know.
Ah, but some day we will know them!

Until then, it’s God’s plan for us to stand in the gap for the disobedient.

Jesus has given us authority over all the power of the enemy. We can bind spiritual forces and interfere with their schemes so that blindness will be removed from those who are held captive. We can change circumstances and create situations that will bring the lost face to face with Jesus Christ.

Jesus paid the price for every soul to be saved and delivered. He yearns for them.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me…to preach deliverance to the captives.”
Luke 4:18

Only God can reveal God!
We do the work of intercession in cooperation with the Holy Spirit who is sent to reveal the truth to the unsaved. Read John 16:5-15. Always follow Him in prayer.
In Him and through Him is where the power is.

Incorrect Religious Assumptions
Just like those who grew up in Jesus' home town, many in our communities have rejected Jesus  based on wrong assumptions, perhaps going back to wrong teachings they learned as children. What is taught in some traditional churches about Jesus is far from what is true about Jesus.

The unsaved don’t have a clue what Jesus has redeemed them from.
This is where you and I can help them.

THE GLORIOUS CHURCH: Intercessors for The Lost
Since The Church is Christ’s Body, we also are anointed by God.
We can and should pray the scriptures in Isaiah Chapter 61 and expect to be empowered to fulfill our assignments to “rebuild the old ruins, raise up the former desolations, repair the cities, the desolations of many generations.” Isaiah 61:4  Praise God!

The Revealing of Jesus Christ!

Suggestions for Praying for the Lost
  • Ask the Father to pour out His Holy Spirit on all flesh in your state.
  • Ask the Father to send a "spirit of repentance" into your cities.
Jesus gave us instruction:
“…how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? And then he will spoil his house.” Matthew 12:29
Say:
“You spirits blinding the minds and eyes of the lost in my city, stop what you are doing to keep them out of the Kingdom of God. In Jesus’ name stop it now!”

Jesus said, “Pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”
Matthew 9:38   Ask!

“We claim the lost in this city for God’s Kingdom. We believe we have revival here. People are getting saved and delivered, in Jesus’ name. To God be all the Glory!”

  • Believe when you pray that you will see results.
  • Bless your cities as you drive in the car.
  • Bless your state.
  • Call for the armies of Heaven to come into your cities.
  • Pray for your schools.
  • Love people.
  • Tell them about how wonderful Jesus has been to you.

Pray for The Glorious Church to be bold and courageous, strengthened with might in their inner man. Ephesians 3:14-21

Praying  for Elected Leaders:
Pray the prayer in Ephesians 1:17-19 for them.

Beloved, fear not! Our God knows how to have a revival.
And it's going to be big!

JESUS IS COMING SOON!

"... we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery,
the hidden wisdom
which God ordained before the ages
for our glory ..."
1 Corinthians 2:7
_____________________________________________________________

Dear Saints,
The Garden of Eden  had two trees that are a landmark for all humanity:
The tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Read Genesis 2:8-17.

Mankind still has the right to choose ... life or death.

See Deuteronomy 30:19-20.

Two Trees—Two Kinds of Wisdom ...
Two Kinds of Fruit
!

Wisdom From Above:   Proverbs 4:1-13
In all your getting, get wisdom. Why?
Wisdom will:
  • Promote you
  • Bring you honor
  • Place on your head an ornament of grace
  • Deliver to you a crown of glory
  • Increase the years of your life
  • Your steps will not be hindered
  • When you run you will not stumble
And most important:
Keep wisdom…it is your life.

What is wisdom?
Definition of Wisdom: the power of judging rightly and following the soundest course of action, based on knowledge, experience, understanding, etc.; the power of being wise; insight into the true nature of things; the ability to discern modes of action with a view of their results

Demonic Wisdom:  James 3:13-18
In all your getting, do not seek earthly wisdom. Why?
It does not descend from above. It is earthly, sensual, and demonic.
Earthly wisdom will produce:
  • Bitter envying
  • Self-seeking
  • Boasting
  • Lying against the truth
  • Confusion
And most important:
It will produce every evil thing in your life. Uh Oh!

God’s Wisdom
“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” James 3:17-18

“But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God; and righteousness and sanctification and redemption; that, as it is written,
"He who glories, let him glory in the LORD.” 1 Corinthians 1:30-31

“And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

“I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

“However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” 1 Corinthians 2:1-8

The Tree of Life and The Holy Spirit
“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

“These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” 1 Corinthians 2:12-13

How do we acquire wisdom from above?
Seek first the Kingdom of God every day. After all, we are citizens who are born from above. “Seek those things which are above, where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God,” and where we are sitting as well. Ephesians 2:6

Study to accurately divide the Word of Truth. 2 Timothy 2:15.

Definition of Seek: try to find, search for, look for, track down, look into, dig for, probe for, investigate, explore, examine, scrutinize, inspect, pursue, hunt for, to obtain, aim for, inquire for

The Bombardment of The Information Age
  • Be choosey what you hear and receive.
  • Information does not mean transformation.
  • Learning facts does not necessarily give one wisdom.
When we study the scriptures, only those who read with the intent “to do” will eat the fruit of God’s Word. The Apostle James said, “Be doers of the word, not hearers only deceiving yourselves.” Watch out for the “know it all” or “I’ve heard that before” mindset. Our lives are a continual journey of learning from God.

The Importance of Spending Time with the Teacher
One morning, sometime ago, I was studying Psalm 1. The Holy Spirit led me on several different “rabbit trails.”

I decided to look up the definition of scorn. I got out my old 1966 Webster’s Dictionary. Instead of the word scorn, my eyes first fell on a nasty picture of a scorpion. Yikes! One  definition of scorpion said:
“in the Bible, a variety of whip or scourge, perhaps inset with spikes, 1 Kings 12:11.”

How horrid! I immediately began thinking of Jesus being tortured with such an awful instrument. As I read the scripture in 1 Kings, it brought me to tears. What a price our Savior paid for us!

HE'S CALLED "THE COUNSELOR"

When I began studying that day I was pressing through a cloud of weariness. But in a few moments what brought tears to my eyes brought tenderness to my soul and a total change in my outlook on life. If I would have allowed my soul to continue to go down the “woe is me" path, things would only have gotten darker and darker.

A heart that is grateful to Him who redeemed us will always lead us to the "joy" of our salvation.

Life Application
Jesus said, “By your patience possess your souls.”
That means He put the ball in our court.
Remember, “Take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.”

Dear Saints, as people of prayer we must endeavor to stay "strong in the Lord and in the power of His might." A weak Christian can do little for others in intercession.

Two Trees of Wisdom—It's Still Man's Choice
The world and it's earthly wisdom screams for your attention every day.
Make sure you set your heart to get wisdom from above ...  from the Book ... early every morning.

It is your life.

Suggested Assignment
“Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. Let your heart retain my words; Keep my commands, and live.”

Read Proverbs Chapter 4 every morning this week.

"The LORD is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the strength of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?"
Psalm 27:1
____________________________________________________________

Dear Ministers,
Scroll down for previous lessons.
SECRETS OF INTERCESSION PART 4:  STRENGTH

“Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10
This kind of strength is not like the strength of a body builder. This is spiritual strength, from the inside out. This is the joy that flows out of the river of life: God’s Spirit! It produces a renewing of spiritual strength. John 7:38-39

Spiritual strength will stabilize and govern the mind, will and emotions. It will release life and strength to the body so we may run and not be weary, walk and not faint, to help us fulfill our assignment for the Kingdom of God.

As a Man Thinks, So is He
“Then Agrippa said to Paul, ‘You are permitted to speak for yourself.’ So Paul stretched out his hand and answered for himself:

“I think myself happy…” Acts 26:1-2

Delightful scripture, isn’t it? It’s one of those scriptures to write on a note and place around your house so you can see it often!

“I think myself happy.”
And someone said, “Yeah, right. The world is coming apart like a $2.00 watch and I’m supposed to be happy?” Yes! God’s armor, the helmet of salvation, is for the protection of your thought life. In past lessons, we have taught extensively about the renewing of the mind. See Ephesians 4:17-24 & Romans 12:1-2.

A brief recap of renewing the mind:
  • Take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5
  • Be anxious for nothing. Pray! Then cast off cares. Philippians 4:4-9
  • Train yourself to think on things that are: True, Honest, Just, Pure, Lovely, Good Report, Virtuous, Praiseworthy.
  • Monitor what you listen to.

We’re surrounded with faith thieves.

And faith thieves are “strength” thieves!
Most of what the world is putting out as “entertainment” should not be allowed in our ears or before our eyes. Watching a movie filled with corruption, tragedy and murder will affect our thought life and begin to produce fear. And fear is the satanic vacuum of faith.

Your
faith is more valuable to you than gold! 1 Peter 1:7

Jesus said, “Take heed what you hear…” Read Mark 4:13-32
Why? Words are seeds, or containers of either good or evil.
They build up or they steal. And, seeds produce after their own kind.

“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.” Matthew 12:35

WORDS
It’s the way the whole system works.

“The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

“Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.” Genesis 1:2-3

What would have happened if God began to complain about what He saw?

“Wow, now that thing is just a hopeless mess. Look at how black everything is. That emptiness and void is just awful. What are we going to do? I can’t take this. Let’s go somewhere else and start over.”

Complaints! This is what many Believers who pray are doing. It’s the way they live their lives. Their words are hooked up to the natural.

They speak what they see and don’t realize what is taking place. Many times those mountains in our lives that stand against us and hinder us are mountains of our own carnal words! James 3:1-12

What does our Commander tell us to say?

“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Mark 11:23

The Lord spoke this to one evangelist:
“I have told my people they can have what they say, and they are saying what they have.”

Someone is after your words!
The Apostle Paul tells us we are in a spiritual war and gives us specific guidelines that an overcomer must do. See 2 Corinthians 10:3-5. Believers who do not endeavor to practice these things every day, either through lack of knowledge or lack of diligence, will be an easy target for the kingdom of darkness.

The closer we get to the return of Jesus Christ, the more fervent the Body of Christ must become in following God’s rules. And Saints, there are rules to follow even though we are under God’s grace. His grace empowers us to help us obey and prosper.

What does all this have to do with this week’s subject: STRENGTH?
Let’s continue to follow this trail a little further to hear what the Spirit of God is saying to The Church.

The Apostle Paul’s Thorn
Paul presents an argument for his faithfulness and against false apostles as he shares his sufferings for Christ in his letter to the Corinthian Church. He said he was continually harassed wherever he went to preach: beaten, imprisoned, shipwrecked, etc.
See 2 Corinthians 11:23-33.

He was aware this “thorn” was a satanic spirit sent to hinder and steal the revelations he was receiving from the Lord. Paul pleaded with the Lord that it be removed from him. What was Jesus’ reply? “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

What is the Lord saying here? “No, Paul. I want you to continue to be tormented by Satan's messenger as I give you revelations so that it will keep you humble?” I don't think so...

My Grace,  My Strength ... Power!
Hopefully, our generation is putting into practice what we have been taught:
to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit to live life in the Spirit.
We cannot overcome the enemy within our own strength. “The Spirit also helps in our weaknesses ... and makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”
Romans 8:26-27

Jesus gave us examples to follow.
When He was in the desert 40 days and tempted of the devil what weapon did Jesus use? Did He use His own strength as King of Kings? He used The Word of God!
“It is written…”  Then the devil left Him. Read Matthew 4:1-11.

“ … I do nothing of Myself; but as the Father taught Me, I speak these things.” John 8:28
“ … I do not speak on My own authority, but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.” John14:10

We can see Jesus relied on God's Word.
He was totally dependent on His Father.

THE CHURCH
We also rely on God's Word and are totally dependent on our Father.

THE ASSIGNMENT
What did Jesus tell his disciples? “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature… And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues…” See Mark 16:15-18.

THE ANOINTING
The Apostle John taught us that we have an anointing, the yoke destroying power of God that removes burdens. See 1 John 2:20 & 27 and Isaiah 10:27.

Jesus received this same anointing for His earthly ministry.
“ … how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” Acts 10:38

The New Creation in Christ:
A Life of Progress

Paul wrote “Now we know in part…”
Paul himself was also learning from the Lord as he journeyed through his life.

Paul’s letter to the Corinthians described his battle with a satanic spirit as a “thorn in his flesh.” This letter was written in A.D. 57.

Later, in A.D. 62, Paul wrote to the Ephesians giving them revelation knowledge of exactly how to stand against the wiles of the devil and put on the armor of God. See Ephesians 6:10-18.

Paul’s Deliverance of the “Thorn.”
Paul’s letter to young Pastor Timothy:
“But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra—what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me.”
2 Timothy 3:10-11

Out of them all the Lord delivered him!

“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ…” 2 Corinthians 2:14
“For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” 1 John 3:8
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” Ephesians 6:10

Ministers Who Pray Need God’s Joy and Strength

Praise God! For greater is He that is in us than he who is in the world!
The intercessors strength comes from abiding in the vine and His words abiding in us…continually. John 15:1-8  It’s systemic!

Without Him, we can do nothing!

LIFE

  • “I have been crucified with Christ;
  • it is no longer I who live,
  • but Christ lives in me;
  • and the life which I now live in the flesh
  • I live by faith in the Son of God,
  • who loved me
  • and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
That’s the joy we live our lives from. That’s the strength we pray from!

_____________________________________________________________

Dear Saints who Pray,
We are continuing to study on the Secrets of Intercession. If you haven’t read the previous two lessons, just scroll down.

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come…” 2 Timothy 3:1

PRESSURE
Perilous, difficult times can produce pressure. How are you dealing with it?

Definition of Pressure: a constraining or compelling force or influence; sway, power, force, bias, compulsion, hurry, urgency, necessity
the state of being pressed, compressed; harassment, oppression, stress, difficulty, strain, tension, adversity, trouble, trial, grievance, burden, affliction, anxiety, distress, care

A compelling force or influence; sway. Wow!
What does scripture say about this?

“We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.

“We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.”
1 John 5:18-19

Jesus prayed for you before you were born.

Before the cross, He asked His Father:
“I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” John 17:15-17

What’s happening?
We’ve been chosen by God to live in the End-of-Days. That means He knew we could handle it! And we’ve been trained for it.

People of prayer are right in the center of God’s purpose and plan for earth as we work with God to prepare for the great harvest of souls and the glory to come: to meet our Savior in the air!

“For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.”
1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

SECRETS OF INTERCESSION: Part 3
PRAY! THEN CAST OFF ALL CARE.

Just like a fisherman casts his line away from him, out of his boat, after you pray, cast the CARE of it onto the Lord, for it’s not yours to fix!

“God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.” 1 Peter 5:5-9

“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:31-33

Guard Your Heart!
Carrying care has consequences.

“Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.” Mark 4:18-19

If care is allowed to be imbedded in your soul and enter your spirit man, your intercession will begin to be smothered out and there will be a sense of weakness and loss of strength. Why? Because carrying a bundle of care chokes the Word and the Word is the supply of all power. Hebrews 1:3

“The words that I speak to you they are spirit and they are life.” John 6:63

Relying on The Helper: The Spirit of Might
“Let not your heart be troubled…” John 14:1
“I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” John 14:18

“If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.” John 14:15-17

Total dependence on our Coach and faith in God and His Word are a requirement to be victorious in our day.

Daily Maintenance
Body builders know that, if they stop exercising, before too long their muscles will become weak and flabby. Your spirit, the new creation man, requires Bible Food every day. Your spirit also needs to exercise.

“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” Jude 20-21

There is nothing that can take the place of developing your spirit man as you pray in tongues. It not only strengthens you with might in your inner man, Ephesians 3:16, but it can open up knowledge not previously known.

And when your spirit is strong it will dominate your flesh. See Galatians 5:16-26.

NO WORD? NO FRUIT!
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.” John 15:4-8

LIFE IN THE YEAR 2014: Whole lot of shaken goin’ on …
New Testament Prophecy:
“Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.”

“Now this, ‘Yet once more,’ indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:26-29

Dual Citizenship—Dual Occupancy   Philippians 3:20
Jesus said the Kingdom of God is within you. See Luke 17:21. That Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom that cannot be shaken. It is secure and it is stable.

“His kingdom rules over all.” Psalm 103:19

THE NATIONS
“So will it be on the earth and among the nations, as when an olive tree is beaten, or as when gleanings are left after the grape harvest.” Isaiah 24:13

A picture is worth a thousand words.

SHAKING, HARVESTING, AND THE GLORY!
It seems that shaking and harvesting go hand in hand. Something unseen is also going forth—the Glory of God!

Old Testament Prophecy:
“ … ‘And be strong, all you people of the land,’ says the Lord, ‘and work; for I am with you,’ says the Lord of hosts.

“‘According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear!’

“For thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts.

“‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts.” Haggai 2:4-9

Jesus says:
“Peace I leave with you,
My peace I give to you;
not as the world gives do I give to you.
Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27

Suggested Assignment

Let’s purpose in our hearts to pray more in the Spirit, not only in our prayer time but throughout the day.  It keeps the connection “hot.”

"After two days will He revive us;
on the third day
He will raise us up,
that we may live in his sight."
Hosea 6:2

Dear Ambassadors of Prayer,
Everything is subject to change!

If you have not read the previous lesson, just scroll down.
Previously we focused on two foundational subjects of prayer:
  • Seeing the Invisible
  • Doing the Impossible

SECRETS OF INTERCESSION: Part 2

They have a different Father
One of the doctrines the world says is that we’re all brothers and should live and think peace and not make war.

Jesus taught that people who are not born again have a different father than the one He has. We are not all the same.

We, who are born again, have God, the Creator of all life, as our Father. The only way for God to be our Father is to receive His Son as Savior and Lord. Those who do not have Jesus as their Lord and Savior are blindly functioning under a father who is a condemned outlaw.

“You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.”  John 8:44-45

If you do not know God, go to our new website page and pray the prayer of your eternal salvation:  Salvation prayer.

Two Families on Earth
Our family has an assignment to pray for the other family to hear and know the truth.
It’s the love of Christ that compels us to intercede and to be His witnesses wherever we go.

SECRETS OF INTERCESSION:  LOVE
1.  “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment.

2.  “And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31

LOVE: The Foundation of Revival
What’s love got to do with it? Everything!
You really can’t love your neighbor with just human love, especially during the End-of-Days time in which God has chosen for us to live. Jesus said one generation would see lawlessness increase and love grow cold. See Matthew 24:13.

Only God’s love can knock down the boundaries of isolation, selfishness, and unforgiveness that all men share.

We love others through God’s love that He deposited into our spirit when we were born again. See Romans 5:5. Every morning brings a new day of opportunities to express that love. When unconditional love is free to flood our prayers, it releases God's will on earth and expands our capacity to receive more of Him.

GOD IS LOVE
“He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.” 1 John 4:8-9

Seeing God…Through His Love
“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.  1 John 4:10-12

The Test
“By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

“Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.” 1 John 4:13-17

LOVE sent His Beloved to pay the price for man’s rebellion.
Because of love, the Son gave Himself to be made sin that we might spend eternity with LOVE.

This is the LOVE that is within us.

This is the well of life we pray from when we intercede for The Lost. Do we fully understand what is taking place when we pray for The Lost? Does the spiritual force and power of our love surround them? Does God use this to draw them to Himself?
It is the goodness of God that leads to repentance. Romans 2:4

The Sacrifice
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.

“For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:1-3

“For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” Galatians 5:14

The Image
“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
2 Corinthians 3:18

“For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.” Romans 8:29

The Goal
“Therefore I exhort first of all that
  • supplications,
  • prayers,
  • intercessions, and
  • giving of thanks be made for all men,
  • for kings and
  • all who are in authority,
  • that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.

“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

“For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time…” 1 Timothy 2:1-6

You and I have been crucified with Christ—not to Christ but with Christ. How did He die?

He loved us and gave Himself a sacrifice for us. This love is our example for living. As husbands love their wives with the purity and power of this kind of love, everything in the family comes into order. See Ephesians 5:25.

Love is the root to the abundant life. See John 10:10.
Love is the foundation to effective praying because faith works through love.
And for those in the world who have a different father, it is the answer they are searching for and the reason they were born.

The supernatural power of love flows out of us through that love in everything we do and everywhere we go. “Let this mind be in you”…who gave Himself for others. “For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.”  Read Philippians 2:1-18.

As we serve others, our lives are fulfilled.

Like my Pastor says to the church, “Out of our seats and into the streets!”

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35

A More Excellent Way
“Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.
And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.

“And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.” 1 John 3:21-23

Secrets of Intercession
Faith, hope and love…the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

God is love.
When we pray from His love that He placed within us, we release the greatest spiritual force.

Love never fails.
Love went to the cross for you and for me.

Suggested Assignment:
Read Romans Chapter 12 every morning this week.

PRAYER WITH PURPOSE: REVIVAL!
This month is a special month.
Mark Your Calendar—Every Friday in September—Prayer and Fasting!
We’re praying for God’s Glory to be revealed! Isaiah 40:1-9

What happens when the Body of Christ intercedes through love for The Church, The Lost and Elected Leaders?

“It shall come to pass in that day
That I will answer,” says the Lord;
I will answer the heavens,
And they shall answer the earth.
The earth shall answer
With grain, with new wine, and with oil;
They shall answer Jezreel. (God will sow)
Then I will sow her for Myself in the earth,
And I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy;
Then I will say to those who were not My people,
‘You are My people!’
And they shall say, ‘You are my God!’” Hosea 2:21-23

“After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

“Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.” Hosea 6:2-3

THE RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST IS SOON!
