"Uphold me according to your word,
that I may live ..."
Psalm 119:116
__________________________________________________________________________

Dear Saints,

Prior to the birth of Jesus, Simeon, a just and devout man, was waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. Anna, a prophetess and widow of great age, was serving God with fastings and prayers, night and day. See Luke 1:25 & Luke 2:37.

We who walk with the Lord are called to discern the season we are living in for this is a prophetic time.

WORDS
The Kingdom of Heaven is a kingdom established by God and His Word.

Adam was created perfect and established by and in God’s Word. The Blessing, Genesis 1:28, is God’s eternal Word, is it not? Jesus, the Word of God made flesh, became the Second Adam, which changed everything. His death, burial, resurrection and ascension completed Heaven’s assignment to restore man to his created beginning as God’s son.

After the corruption, man’s speech—his words—became twisted by the curse. Satan gained entrance to be god of this world and had access to all mankind. The second Adam, Jesus Christ, has given man back his original right to bless and have dominion on earth, but only as man and God are united as one in Jesus Christ.

Your words are very important, laying seed for death, for vanity, or for life.

Jesus’ revelation: “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is done in heaven,” must begin with “words in prayer” as we, The Church, intercede for the nations.

Words connect heaven and earth.
Words connect and release God’s Word through faith.
Faith is the only way to connect with the supernatural.

The first words Adam ever heard from His Father were a release of The Blessing—the breath of God. His anointing flowed out of Him and into Adam as the power of life. They were just as powerful as “'Let there be light', and there was light.” Genesis 1:3

Our generation of God’s children will never achieve the full success of The Blessing, to rule and reign through Christ, without putting a guard over the tongue.

That cannot be achieved without filling the heart with the Holy Scriptures ...  for in them is the power that the Holy Spirit works through to “tame the tongue.”

Where your treasure is there your heart will be also.
Your heart is led by what you treasure.
Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

“For we all stumble in many things.

“If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.

“Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things.

“See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.

“For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

“With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing.

“My brethren, these things ought not to be so.” James 3:2-10

“He who would love life
And see good days,

Let him refrain his tongue from evil,
And his lips from speaking deceit.
Let him turn away from evil and do good;
Let him seek peace and pursue it.
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their prayers;
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” 1 Peter 3:10-12

“Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.”
1 Peter 3: 8-9

So we see, The Blessing has a connection with:
  • your heart
  • your words
  • and effective prayer
If you knew you only had a short time to complete your assignment on earth for the Lord, what would you do? Would your priorities change? Would it affect the decisions you make today? Would there be a change in what you say or do not say?

“Teach me, and I will hold my tongue;
Cause me to understand wherein I have erred.
How forceful are right words!” Job 6:24-25

The Army of God
Where we are going words become increasingly more important.
Words are not solely for communication purposes but are also to enforce God’s will and bring forth the supernatural.

Let us not grow weary in doing good, Beloved of God. If you need a boost of strength, meditate on Isaiah 49 this week. Sounds like revival to me!

God’s Time Clock
After the death of Moses, there came one day when Joshua and the children of Israel began to move out from the wilderness to take the land of Canaan. This generation would now fulfill God’s will to inhabit the land promised to them and become established as His nation.

God’s Plan—God’s Time!
As the Body of Christ becomes more aware of who they are in Christ, the reality of our oneness in the Father and the Son will open up realms of glorious power that we have not fully experienced before.

____________________________________________________________________________

As we truly love the brethren, and lay down our lives for one another, Father will show forth the indescribable glory of the universe to the nations:
The revealing of Jesus Christ!

Saints: Watch over your words!
"Death and life are in the power of the tongue..." Proverbs 18:21

"'Is not My Word like a fire?' says the LORD"
Jeremiah 23:29
_________________________________________________________________________

Holy Brethren: This is Part 6 of a study about prayer.

Our last lesson focused on the Apostle Paul’s strong exhortation to the Body of Christ:
Put on the WHOLE armor of God to stand against the wiles of the devil!

The mighty impenetrable breastplate, called righteousness, protects the spirit of man, the new creation in Christ. Righteousness defines who you are and will affect your prayer life. This is the subject of this lesson.

RIGHTEOUSNESS

What is it exactly?
Vines dictionary says it is the character or quality of being right or just; it was formerly spelled ‘rightwiseness,’ which clearly expresses its meaning. I like to say it this way: “Because of Jesus' Blood,  I have the right to stand before God, my Father, without shame, without guilt, and without condemnation, just as if I had never sinned."

Can righteousness be earned by doing good things for people?
No. Why not? Because it is a spiritual gift. See Romans 5:17.

Jesus acquired it when He became God’s sacrifice for man’s rebellion, which began in the garden with Adam.

Righteousness is part of our salvation package, given to you and to me when we believed that Jesus Christ died on the cross, was raised from the dead, and we asked Him to be our Savior and Lord. This is the righteousness of faith which results in God’s free gift of life. Read Romans 10:4-13.

It is impossible for man to obtain righteousness by his own deeds.
It is impossible for man to obtain righteousness without Christ Jesus.

We can never buy God’s favor, love and acceptance by our works. It is because of our great love for God that we do good deeds, desiring to serve Him.

Years ago, I saw a true story in the movie theater about a missionary in South America. The man, suffering with pain and exhaustion, carried a large heavy bundle on his back as he slowly climbed to the top of a steep mountain as penance for his sins.

Oh Saints, let’s give thanks to the Lord who suffered and paid the full price for our redemption rights. And thank God that we have the scriptures, and read them, so we  know right from wrong and truth from error.

“For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

“Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

“Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:14-21

PUT ON THE NEW MAN
Many people, even after they are saved, continue to identify themselves with the first Adam and the sin nature. This is not correct and a good illustration of the missionary in South America.

Our identity is in Christ Jesus, the second Adam. His birth changed everything. Let’s hear what the Lord says to us today in the year 2014.

“Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him. Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’

“Nicodemus said to Him, ‘How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?’

“Jesus answered, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, you must be born again. The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.’” John 3:2-8

“And so it is written, ‘The first man Adam became a living being.’ The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual.” 1 Corinthians 15:45-46

“This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?” Galatians 3:2-3

What are we saying then about righteousness?
It cannot be earned by your own efforts!

If you are working to achieve the right to stand before God with a list of your accomplishments, it is like wearing a moth-eaten rag before Him. This will affect your armor.

The breastplate is only impenetrable when it is from the Lord, because it is His armor, not yours. Without a breastplate, your spirit man is defenseless and a target for the enemy’s darts.

“… put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.” Ephesians 4:23-24

Who puts on the new man?
You do.

How do I put on the new man?
Study and meditate the scriptures located in the epistles written to The Church. This is mainly where the new man’s credentials are located. A list of “Who You Are in Christ” scriptures can also be located on this website. Click on this link: Who You Are Scriptures

You must know who you are in Christ to be able to discern the lies of the devil.
If we follow Jesus and His Word, we have no fear because He has made us more than conquerors through Him. In our last lesson we learned that God’s Word is systemic, but only as it is planted continually in the heart.

JESUS: OUR CHAMPION
The following example from God’s Word shows us how to defeat the devil.

Jesus had heard the Word of truth concerning His identity:  “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” See Matthew 4:17.
Ah, but someone that is unseen also heard this.

  • “Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, ‘If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.’ But He answered and said, ‘It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’
  •     “Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ Jesus said to him, ‘It is written again, You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’”
  •     “Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, ‘All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.’
  •     “Then Jesus said to him, ‘Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.’” Matthew 4:2-11

Jesus released the most powerful weapon in all the universe: the Word of God!

Questions: The Strategy of a Thief
Jesus’ experience in the wilderness reminds me of the same trap the devil used on Adam and Eve to take mankind captive. See Genesis 3:1.  Notice how the devil used the word “if” to tempt Jesus and also ridicule the integrity of His Father. You’re not the only one the devil hates.

Lies, condemnation, accusations, shame and guilt over past mistakes are all tactics the devil uses against The Church to remove our righteousness. Why? So he can steal the power of our identity in Christ, and thereby have supremacy to steal, kill and destroy.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________

The Word of Almighty God is always the answer. Your righteousness is a gift that has already been paid for, “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Hebrews 4:16

“Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” See Hebrews 10:19-23.

"... let us put on the armor of light."
Romans 13:12
___________________________________________________________________________

Dear Saints,
The Word of the Lord to you today is: “The Church is ascending! It is written, we are more than conquerors, and so it is. Be not dismayed.”    Praise God!

We are on Part 5 of a study in prayer. Let’s take a quick overview of previous lessons.

Jesus’ ministry was centered on a life of prayer; holy oneness united in continual communion with His Father. Five scriptures from the gospel of John reveal to us that Jesus “can of Himself do nothing.” When He spoke peace to the windstorm that was raging on the sea, we asked, “Did He pray beforehand”?

Next we saw that Jesus dominated the natural by living from the inside…out. We learned about the carnal nature and the influence of religious tradition and its terrible grip to hinder answered prayer. Effective prayer is a life of abiding in Jesus and His anointed Word abiding within us. We can achieve nothing without Him.

Part 3 dealt with the benefits of God’s correction, the walk of faith, His acceleration of all things, praying in unity and oneness with each other and remembering that our Father is a good God and has provided everything we will ever need on earth for us to fulfill our assignments. And also a reminder not to leave God on our prayer shelf when we’re through praying, but to let His Spirit affect every hour of our days activities.

The last lesson reminded us that we have a hidden treasure within us that must be protected, for there is a thief that desires to hinder, to minimize your prayer power, and to remove the effectiveness of your flow of living water. Redeeming the time and walking not as fools but with wisdom is the plea from Heaven for this hour. And this subject brings us to today’s lesson.

Gods’ Armor—Armor For Prayer
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.”

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:10-13

Who puts it on? How many pieces are there? What does it protect?

Picture
Notice, this armor is not earthly.

It is God’s armor. Since God is a Spirit, His armor is spiritual.

His weapons are spiritual because we are in a spiritual war. Did Jesus wear God’s armor? First let me ask you this: What do all these pieces of armor have in common?

There is not one piece of armor that is apart from God’s Word.

Since Jesus is the Word made flesh, He in His earthly ministry always had on the armor. Have you ever noticed that Christians who are steadfast in the faith are not Christians who read their Bible only once a week on Sunday morning? More is required now. Evidently studying, reading, and being taught God’s Word from anointed preachers has a systemic effect on our ability to triumph in spiritual warfare.

That reminds me of a science experiment children sometimes do in school. They take a flower and put it in a glass of water. Then they add dye to the water. Soon whatever color of dye they added to the water gets absorbed into the system of that flower. The flower becomes that color.

God’s Word is systemic.

God’s Armor is His Power to Us to Stand and Conquer

Stand therefore having:
  1. girded your waist with truth
  2. put on the breastplate of righteousness
  3. shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace
  4. above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one
  5. take the helmet of salvation
  6. and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God
  7. praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— (Ephesians 6:14-18)

God’s Army of Pray-ers
God’s armor is primarily weapons to be used for prayer. They are for your protection. Only one is for offensive warfare.

Know your weapons. Use your weapons.  Read 2 Corinthians 10:3-6.

Defensive weapons are for: protection, preservation, security, guard, maintenance, care, safekeeping, fortification
Offensive Weapon -The Sword : attack, assault, charge, aggression

How can we rise up? How can we overcome in this evil day?

Be wise!

Proverbs 4: 4-14
“He also taught me, and said to me:
    ‘Let your heart retain my words;
    Keep my commands, and live.
    Get wisdom! Get understanding!
Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth.
    Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you;
Love her, and she will keep you.

    Wisdom is the principal thing;
    Therefore get wisdom.
And in all your getting, get understanding.
    Exalt her, and she will promote you;
She will bring you honor, when you embrace her.
    She will place on your head an ornament of grace;
A crown of glory she will deliver to you.

Hear, my son, and receive my sayings,
And the years of your life will be many.
    I have taught you in the way of wisdom;
I have led you in right paths.
When you walk, your steps will not be hindered,
And when you run, you will not stumble.
   Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go;
Keep her, for she is your life.

Do not enter the path of the wicked,
And do not walk in the way of evil.’”

______________________________________________________________________________________

Remember dear Saint, even if you are alone while reading this lesson, you have the Kingdom of God within you. Jesus is the Head of His Church. He loves The Church and gave Himself for her and is in the process of bringing correction for the glory to manifest. We are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. Ephesians 5:25-32

Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us, but be wise. This is not a time to be offended with people and go it alone. Stay in church! Love the brethren. Stay together. The army is moving forward for revival!

“O Zion,
    You who bring good tidings,
    Get up into the high mountain;
    O Jerusalem,
    You who bring good tidings,
Lift up your voice with strength,
    Lift it up, be not afraid;
Say to the cities of Judah, ‘Behold your God!’” Isaiah 40:9

"'He who believes in Me ... out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.' But this He spoke concerning the Spirit ..."
John 7:38-39
___________________________________________________________________________

“For where your treasure is there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21

Dear Saints,

This is Part 4 of a study on how we can pray more effectively.

Years ago, I saw a Walt Disney movie called, “Treasure Island.” It’s all about the search for buried treasure.

As I look at the turmoil that is in the world because of man’s decision to solve problems without God’s help, it reminds me of that movie. Searching, and searching, and searching!

As we see things becoming unraveled, not only are the leaders of nations searching for answers, but also the unsaved in the world are searching for that treasure that will make them happy and complete.

THE CHURCH HAS THE ANSWER

Jesus is the only answer to the turmoil and the only solution for the unsaved who are lost. Since His present day ministry is to work through His Church, you and I have a personal calling from the Master. We have been chosen for this before the foundation of the world!
Ephesians 1:4

We have been given an assignment to bring in the harvest. Read  2 Corinthians 5:14-21. Looks impossible? No, not at all. You got saved didn’t you? That’s because someone prayed you in.

Since the devil, the god of this world’s system, blinds the minds of those who do not believe, it is imperative that we stand in the gap for them. 2 Corinthians 4:4

Only The Church can do this. That’s why His Church is called to intercede for the lost and elected officials.

The Hope of the World
The demon-possessed man who was living in a graveyard, crying out night and day in horrible torment and captivity, yet upon seeing Jesus from afar, ran toward the Savior and worshipped Him. Read Mark 5:1-20.  Isn't that amazing?

Saints, there’s hope and surety for your family members, and there is hope and surety for changes in our cities and nation. Love through prayer extends a saving hand to those who are without hope and without God in the world. Ephesians 2:12.

MY HOUSE SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER
Mark 11:17

Preparations for The Harvest
Our prayers are laying track for the lost to repent and find that glorious treasure through the cross of Jesus Christ. Out of our hearts (prayer) flow rivers of living water to sooth those in turmoil and to place a canopy of peace and stability over them. Not only over them but over our cities also.  See Isaiah 40:3.

As we pray and are led by His Spirit, the Lord can open the eyes and hearts of the blind and bring revival to the nations. He has brought revival to cities and nations many times.

“For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake. For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.” 2 Corinthians 4:6-7

This treasure that is within you is the storehouse of the power of God, His anointing.

What will happen if your heart becomes distracted and begins to prefer other things? Didn't the children of Israel walk away from the Presence of God to serve other gods? What was happening in the heart of one individual influenced those closest to them, and spread to the next one and so on and so on.

PROTECTING YOUR TREASURE CHEST
Saints, not only are the world’s leaders and the multitudes of lost souls searching for answers, but someone else is searching.

The kingdom of darkness is searching for ways to steal the hidden treasure of God’s anointed Word out of the hearts of His people. Why?

Because the Word of God combined with faith easily overcomes the kingdom of darkness and this world! See 1 John 5:4.

Do you remember how Jesus triumphed over the devil in the wilderness?
See Matthew 4:1-11.

Two doors to the entrance of your hidden treasure of the heart: what you hear, and what you see.

Thoughts and reasoning, feelings and emotions, imaginations and memories are vulnerable to what you hear and what you see.

That is why the Apostle Paul instructs us to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ and to meditate on good things.

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-6

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:6-9

As we, The Glorious Church, take our seat of maturity to “receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness, we will reign in life through Jesus Christ.” See Romans 5:17.

As we continue to move forward on earth’s timeline, coming closer to the great tribulation, let us hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches:

“See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
Ephesians 5:15

Definition of a fool: want of mental sanity and sobriety, a reckless and inconsiderate habit of mind; the lack of commonsense perception of the reality of things natural and spiritual, or the imprudent ordering of one’s life in regard to salvation

“Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

"And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.”
Ephesians 5:15-21
___________________________________________________________________________________

Don’t get swept away with the glitter of the world.
“We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.” Read 1 John 5:18-21.

Saints, take inventory of your heart and what it is seeking after.
Guard the holy things and the hidden treasure within so that our united prayers may be more effective and more fervent, producing much. See James 5:16-18. Time is getting short.

The Holy Spirit also says:
“The Kingdom of God is within you. Rule and reign from there.”
