YOUR LIFE IN THE LATTER DAYS--PART THREE

Ministry and the Walk of Faith    Mark 5:21-43
We’re continuing our study on Mark Chapters Four and Five as one adventure in the life of Jesus and His disciples. Jesus reveals the mysteries of the Kingdom of God in Chapter Four, and then demonstrates its unlimited power in Chapter Five.

This lesson is about that power and how it is released.

“Now when Jesus had crossed over again by boat to the other side, a great multitude gathered to Him; and He was by the sea.  And behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. And when he saw Him, he fell at His feet and begged Him earnestly, saying, ‘My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live.’ So Jesus went with him, and a great multitude followed Him and thronged Him.”

Jairus
Jairus was an administrator in the synagogue.
He knew about Jesus.
His daughter was near death.
Panic and desperation overwhelmed him.
When he came to Jesus he threw himself at His feet.
He worshipped Him and begged Him for help. Matthew 9:18
He knew Jesus would heal his daughter.
Jesus was his only hope.

The Interruption
“Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, ‘If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.’”

The Woman
The woman had become frail and gravely ill.
She suffered through years of disappointments, seeking a cure.
She had spent all of her money on doctors.
Disease and poverty had consumed her life.
The Law restricted her from going out in public.
She had heard about Jesus.
She knew she would be healed.
Jesus was her only hope.

“Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, ‘Who touched My clothes?’ But His disciples said to Him, ‘You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, “Who touched Me?”’”

“And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. And He said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.’”

Whose faith healed her? Her faith.
Whose daughter was she? A daughter of Abraham, the father of faith.

See Romans 4:9-12 and Luke 13:16.

FAITH IS THE VICTORY THAT OVERCOMES THE WORLD!

Perseverance is a requirement to fighting the good fight of faith.
Definition of Persevere: steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement;
to persist, be steadfast, determined, resolute, obstinate, never giving up

The woman, against all opposition, was determined to get her healing, perhaps even hiding to touch His garment. Her faith went beyond all reason and all doubts. “I shall be made well.”

While Jesus was still speaking to her, the bad report came to Jairus. “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” In other words…it’s over!

What was Jesus’ immediate response to Jairus?
“Do not be afraid; only believe.”

Jairus had to hold onto that word while they continued their journey back to his house. Remember, fear tolerated contaminates faith.

Jesus needed Jairus to stay in faith because Jesus was working on what Jairus had proclaimed. And just because there’s opposition, doesn’t mean it’s not going to succeed.

Jairus remained steadfast in faith and Jesus raised his little daughter from the dead!

JESUS CHRIST

“The steps of a good man are ordered of the LORD.”  Psalm 37:23

We can certainly see this in the ministry of Jesus as He yielded every step He took on earth to do His Father’s will. Jesus had faith that as He acted on what was revealed to Him in His Spirit, His Father would manifest. He walked by faith, not by sight, totally yielded and dependant on His Father. And His Father did not let Him down.

“Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.”  See John 5:19.

How did He see what the Father was doing? The same way we can.
See Ephesians 1:17-20 and 1 Corinthians 2:10.

What unity! The Father and the Son are One. Yet, on earth, only One of them was visible. Colossians 1:15 Whether Jesus was teaching, preaching, or healing, we can see the Kingdom of God in demonstration.

Why? Because God is love and that’s what love does!

THE KINGDOM OF GOD
The Earthly Realm—The Heavenly Realm
“… how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” Acts 10:38

Jesus appointed seventy other disciples and sent them out ahead of Him and the twelve to prepare the way. “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” See Luke 10:1-24.

We can see right here that the earthly assignment is given heavenly authority/ provision to accomplish the mission.

The Violent...The Forceful!
The Kingdom of God is at work
within the Believer and the “violent take it by force.” Matthew 11:12
One Bible scholar describes “the violent” as Believers who are eager, with impetuous zeal, who grasp the kingdom of heaven—i.e., its peace, and pardon, and blessedness (power) with as much eagerness as men would snatch and carry off as their own the spoil of a conquered city.

When Jesus took a whip and cleansed the temple of the money changers, His disciples remembered the scripture, “Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up.” See John 2:17.

The Apostle Paul wrote about this Kingdom:
“And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.” See 1 Corinthians 2:4-5.

THE CHURCH ON EARTH

2015: Times of Restoration of All Things.
Acts 3:19-21

Born again Believers are such a unique and different group of people on this earth. As Ambassadors for Christ, our citizenship is of the Heavenly Kingdom. That Kingdom is within each of us and supplies diversities of gifts, differences of ministries, diversities of activities that manifest according to the will and power of the Holy Spirit.
See 1 Corinthians 12.

We are seated in heavenly places in Christ. Ephesians 2:6
We have a mandate to fulfill.

Thy Kingdom Come…
Thy Will Be Done on Earth as it is Done in Heaven

“But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.” Hebrews 12:22-24

This passage goes on to exhort The Church to be obedient for a shaking of heaven and earth will come (like the sifting of the wheat and tares), that those things that cannot be shaken will remain. Read Hebrews 12:25-29.

That’s what is happening right now.

YOUR LIFE IN THE LATTER DAYS

Jesus Christ, Jairus, the Woman … what one thing did they all have in common?

Each of them tapped into the provision of the Kingdom of God by their faith to bring manifestations of the glory of God…His abundant desire to reveal His goodness.

What does this have to do with us….The Church in 2015?
Just think about this.
What if each member of the Body of Christ tapped into the provision of the Kingdom of God by their faith to bring manifestations of the glory of God…what would that look like?

Revival! Awakening!
It’s what manifested in the life of Jesus and His disciples…right in the middle of every day life, one step at a time! And there were so many glorious manifestations that all of them could not be recorded! John 21:25  Oh Saints, get ready!

END TIME GENERATION—James 5:7
The End Days Church is a unique and marvelous group of people. In a long distance relay race, the best runners are saved for the end because of their strength, endurance, tenacity, and an overwhelming desire to win. God has ordained you and me to partake of His end-time purpose: to reconcile all things to Himself.

Why? “All things were created through Him and for Him.” Read Colossians 1:15-20.

Christ loves The Church.

The Holy Spirit is at work setting us apart from the world and washing us with the Word in preparation for the glory. The goal: That we be holy and without blemishes, without dirty spots or wrinkles, so that the Glorious Church might take her place, center stage, and draw in the lost for a great End Time revival!

What you do in every day life is important.
Make yourself ready. Run the last part of your race to win! The power of the Spirit of God is within you and He does not sleep, faint, or grow weary! Isaiah 40:28-31

GOD IS WITH US TO TAKE THE LAND!
Prayer prepares the way. Say to your cities, "Behold Your God!" Isaiah 40:9

Suggested Assignment: Read John 17 and Hebrews 12.

PRAYER WITH PURPOSE:
Men ought always to pray and not lose heart. Luke 18:1

Peace, be still!
Mark 4:39
______________________________________________________

Saints Who Pray,
I received this word of the Lord … twice on September 27, 2015.
“This is where everything changes.”

What does this mean LORD?
“Good for the Church, distress for the nations.”

YOUR LIFE IN THE LATTER DAYS—PART TWO
Mark Chapters Four and Five give us keys to living in victory in the End Days, especially when you see both chapters as one adventure in the life of Jesus and His disciples.

Jesus placed His earthly mission above all things.
And He always sought His Father in what to say and what to do. John 14:10

We, The Glorious Church, have been given God’s Holy Spirit to guide us and accomplish the greater works of the last days. Let us submit, as Jesus did, and be single minded, more fervent still, with our hearts ablaze with the fire of God; one purpose, one desire, one destination looking unto Jesus, the Author and finisher of our faith!

Definition of Destination: journey’s end, goal, plan, purpose, ambition, objective, aim, target, end

THE KINGDOM OF GOD
Jesus teaches His disciples about the mysteries of the Kingdom of God in Mark 4:1-34. Then He demonstrates the unlimited power of this Kingdom being released in the earth.

Assignment:  “Let us cross over to the other side.” Mark 4:35
Destination:  The Country of the Gadarenes

Jesus and His disciples were on assignment by His Father to go and deliver one man… demon possessed and living in a graveyard. As they traveled by boat, a horrific wind storm arose and the waves beat against their boat so that it was filing with water.

The disciples feared for their lives.

1. You Need Peace to Reach Your Destination
“But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, ‘Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?’”

“Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, ‘Peace, be still!’
And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, ‘Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?’

“And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, ‘Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!’” Mark 4:38-41

Jesus and His disciples were a unit.
Jesus and His Body are no different today. We are one Body.  Ephesians 4:4

The Church, the called out ones, are on assignment by our Father.
Jesus never did or said anything unless His Father had revealed it to Him. That is how He accomplished all that He did.

This is how we must think and act now to do the greater works.
Read John 5:19 & 12:49.

Total submission is a requirement to fulfill our assignments.

Each of our individual assignments are forming the magnificent tapestry of The Glorious Church, the culmination of 2000 years of sowing God’s Word/Kingdom in the earth. The Glorious Church will reap the End of Days rewards as we bring a multitude of souls into the Kingdom of Heaven. Time is short, Saints.

“Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.” James 5:7-8

2. You Need Faith to Reach Your Destination
“He said to the disciples, ‘Let us cross over to the other side.’”

Every assignment has a destination.
Every life has a destination.

Jesus is our example, not the disciples, for they had heard Jesus teach all day about the Kingdom of God but when opposition came and it was time to put the Word they heard to work, they feared that they would perish. Stony Ground: “When tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble.” Mark 4:17

Definition of Opposition: the action of opposing, resisting, or combating; antagonism or hostility; contention against, disagreement, aversion, resistance, defiance, enmity; contrary, contender, enemy

Just because there is opposition to the plan of God doesn’t mean the plan isn’t going to succeed. Jesus dominated opposition!

The Year 2015
You will have to persevere and stand your ground at times. Faith and authority work hand in hand to get you to the other side.

Jesus released His faith when He spoke with authority and rebuked the wind and then said, “Peace be still!” to the sea. While we are on our Kingdom assignment, life is taking place all around us, things we have to deal with from day to day. Let’s remember who we are and Who is in us!

“Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”

Fear is faith in something you don’t want to come to pass. Fear is a spiritual force, a perversion of faith. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 11:6

Why?
Faith is the open channel in which God can manifest His goodness and power.
Fear hinders and closes that channel.

Many Believers have been trained in walking by faith, not by sight. We have been taught the importance of relying on scripture, meditating the Word, renewing the mind, walking in love and patience and so on. But to finish this race we need to continue to follow in what we have learned and not become weary and fearful.

If you don’t stand against fear, fear will stand against you to put you in bondage. Fear is a spirit that Jesus has already defeated!

“Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.” Read 1 Corinthians 9:24-27.

“Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27

Never allow fear to dominate your thoughts or actions. To overcome the world we must walk by faith. Be aware of signs of fear. Cast down fearful thoughts.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5 should be memorized and released as the sword of your spirit often.

“Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:17-18

3.  YOU NEED TENACITY TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION
Definition of Tenacious: Persistent, resolute, determined, uncompromising, immovable, inflexible, unchangeable, unbending, unyielding, unwavering, steadfast, relentless, adamant, persevering, constant

When it came to fulfilling what His Father said to do, Jesus was certainly tenacious wasn’t He? This is how He lived His life.

The truth that you know will make you bold!

When Jesus and His disciples crossed over to the other side, the demon-possessed man ran to Jesus and worshiped Him. We can stop right here and notice that there is no situation that is beyond the power of God to deliver.

Jesus released His faith and spoke with authority, “Come out of the man, unclean spirit.”

The Prize ....
People who lived nearby came and saw the man sitting and clothed and in his right mind. They were afraid and begged Jesus to depart from their region. Why?

The man who had been transformed begged Jesus if he might stay with Him, but the Lord had an assignment for him to complete in his own country.

“Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you. And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him; and all marveled.’” Mark 5:19-20

The first disciple to the country of the Gadarenes proclaimed the power of the gospel to the people and all marveled!

Can you see why that horrific wind storm rose up?
Our divine purpose and calling is taking place right in the middle of every day daily life! Selah

Suggested Assignment
Please read/study Mark Chapter Four and Five.

We will continue with this study of Mark in our next lesson as we look at the faith of Jairus and the faith of the woman who touched the clothes of Jesus.

CLOSING COMMENTS: Peace, Faith, Tenacity!!!
When the Lord tells us to do something, whether it be a kind word to a stressed out cashier, praying for our neighbors, or something like “begin a new ministry,” it is only  when we act on His word that provision is released to accomplish that task.

Ephesians 3:10 says we are His workmanship created in Christ for good works which have already been prepared…that we should walk in them. Just walk it out Saints!

Ephesians 1:4-5  reveals that we were chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world, predestined to be adopted as His.

Staying in God’s Word transforms the mind from earthly thinking to thinking and acting in Kingdom ways. Jesus said that Kingdom is within us and it is taken by force. Stand your ground! Matthew 11:12

As Ambassadors of that Kingdom, obedience is required so that power can be released and we can do the greater assignment that is ahead of The Glorious Church, while we are looking for our Beloved to return, being ready to meet Him at the sound of the trumpet. See Luke 21:36 & 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.

Until then persevere with NO fear and…pray!!!
Kingdom provision is released when we pray.
