"Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying,
'This is the way, walk in it,'
whenever you turn to the right hand
or whenever you turn to the left."
Isaiah 30:21

Let’s pretend that you are a student attending classes at “Holy Spirit School.”
You are sitting at your desk with many other students in the class listening to your Teacher.
Everyone here is very well behaved. Teacher begins His class by saying, "We are going to have a test today," then hands out a folded sheet of paper to each student and tells them not to open it until He says so.
“This is a timed test. You have exactly twenty minutes to answer the questions and turn your papers in. Accompany your answers with scripture. You may use your Bible. You may begin now.”
How do you know you are walking by faith?
How do you know you are living by faith?
What is the difference between the two?

Question #3
What is the difference between walking in faith and living by faith?
Walking by Faith: 2 Corinthians 5:17
First of all, walking means I have matured from babyhood because I am no longer crawling, no longer trying to walk and falling down. Walking means taking individual steps. Steps take me where I want or need to go. Walking by faith is a daily decision to stay in God’s Word and do what it says, wherever my steps may take me, whether inside or outside of my home. Psalm 37:23 It’s the small stuff that matters.
Living by Faith: Romans 1:17
Living by faith encompasses all of my interests, all of my existence; that no matter what I do in word or deed, I strive to do all in the name of Jesus, giving thanks. Colossians 3:17 Living by faith means living under His umbrella of protection as I choose to be obedient to what is written in His Word. Deuteronomy 28:1-14 Living by faith means a daily life of blessings, a life full of hope, walking in favor, walking in love. Romans 8:37 I am ruling and reigning in life through Jesus Christ. Romans 5:17
For me, living by faith is living in God; enduring, persistent, remaining steadfast and confident through trials, knowing my faithful God will see me through to victory.
Hebrews 11:6
Living by faith is pressing toward the goal for the upward prize in Christ, compelled by the love of Jesus, and always having the finish line of eternity in my view. Philippians 3:14
Definition of Overcome: conquer; surmount; defeat; overthrow; suppress; put down; overpower; subdue; crush; quell; prevail over; triumph over
“For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” 1 John 3:8
“For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” 1 John 5:3-5
Faith is Not a Passing Movement
It is a requirement to possess the promises of God. It is impossible to please God without faith. The children of Israel did not possess their promised land because the will of God which was told them was not received, not being mixed with faith. Result? A lifetime in the wilderness without God’s rest! See Hebrews 4:1-3. Unbelief never pleases God because it questions His integrity and chooses to believe something else. What did the Israelites ignorantly choose? “If only we had died in this wilderness.” Numbers 14:2
Grasshopper Mentality: We Can’t Do It!
It’s a Choice…
Unbelief is man thinking he has a better way than God.
The ten leaders didn’t have faith in their hearts even BEFORE they went to spy out the land. When they saw the giants they had an inward picture of slaughter and defeat, and they transferred that fear to the nation. Natural circumstances will always challenge people who do not believe.
Caleb and Joshua believed God BEFORE they saw the giants. When the test came, faith was declared! “We are well able to overcome it.”
Faith is an act. So is unbelief.
2015—Times and Seasons are Changing
The world we have been called to live in is becoming more dangerous…giants!
“But be of good cheer, I have overcome the world!” John 16:33
Keeping scriptures before our eyes on a continual basis is more important than ever before. It is necessary to live by faith! Visit our revised resource: “Who I Am in Christ Scriptures.” This will keep the force of faith vibrant and strong within you. “I am well able to overcome this situation for the greater One is within me!”
“This is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.”
No faith? No over—coming!
“Our faith” is not only the combined faith of each member of the Body of Christ—but also includes the faith of Jesus Christ, the Almighty Victor who “disarmed principalities and powers, making a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them.” See Colossians 2:14-15.
And His Spirit Resides Within Us!
“And do not [for a moment] be frightened or intimidated in anything by your opponents and adversaries, for such [constancy and fearlessness] will be a clear sign (proof and seal) to them of [their impending] destruction, but [a sure token and evidence] of your deliverance and salvation, and that from God.” Philippians 1:27-28 AMP
Faith in that scripture produces boldness and courage in your inner man!
Faith was deposited into your spirit the moment of your conception (the second birth), when you were born of the incorruptible seed of God. This is why we study the scriptures… because our spirit man needs spirit food from the original source, not from this earthly kingdom but from that Kingdom which is above.
FAITH AND HOPE:
An inside spiritual substance sparked by belief in God’s Word
Walking and living by faith have this in common: they are both under the lordship of the written Word of God.
You must:
- be guided by the inward man
- have a renewed mind
- release faith by your words
Matthew 12:35
Can you see how faith affects your prayers?
OUR BELOVED SAVIOR
We can see how Jesus literally walked out His Father’s will in the pages of the gospel.
He lived His life by faith in God.
How? He was always looking inward for direction.
“For I came down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him that sent Me.” John 6:38
The greatest test of the Lord’s faith came in the garden where man’s eternal salvation hung in a desperate fight over good and evil, over His own will or God’s will for man. Our blessed Savior sweat drops of blood from the enormous pressure. Imagine becoming sin for all men for all time…it’s beyond what we can think.
Saints, where would mankind be today without His love?
Walking and living by faith means a life embracing His manifested love and laying hold of those things which He has already purchased for us. Faith is the conduit by which we receive life…every moment, every day.
This is what separates us from the world—our faith.
“And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:12-14
“Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”
Luke 18:8
Saints, stay fervent and stay ready for the Lord’s return! And stay in school…the School of the Holy Spirit. Remain a conscientious student so your Teacher can reveal things you do not know.
“I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20
