The Call to Intercession: Scripture!
“Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me:
‘Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.
See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms,
To root out and to pull down,
To destroy and to throw down,
To build and to plant.’ ” (Jeremiah 1:9-10)
“Death and life are in the power of your tongue.” (Proverbs 18:21)
“And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:18-19)
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— “ (Ephesians 6:10-19)
Governing Authorities
The police in my city have a very important job to keep law and order here.
Likewise, intercessors have a very important job for the Kingdom of God to keep law and order in our cities, state and nation. The weapons we use are unseen, released in the heavenlies, to arrest those spirits of evil trying to take our nation.
Thank God those prayers were at work over President Trump a couple of weeks ago when Jesus saved his life from an assassin. The weeks ahead are going to require you and me to stand firmly rooted in God’s Word and pray more in tongues.
Our keys are most important in heavenly realms. Get a map and pray over cities and states across our nation: peace and order! Don’t neglect your assignment and leave an opening in the heavens!
